Enjoyable Listen
I love Johanna Parker, and I'm always thrilled to find a book narrated by her. I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end. I connected to the main character right away. All of the characters were interesting, and Parker was able to bring each character to life. I liked the audiobook so much that I couldn't stop listening. It had suspense, humor and a bit of romance. Loved it!

Not my cup of sweet tea
I thoroughly enjoyed the Nocturne Falls series by Kristen Painter so I thought I’d give this series a chance. I’ve also listened to Dead Until Dark (Charlaine Harris) narrated by Johanna Parker so I thought I knew what I was getting into. Unfortunately I much preferred the narration on Dead Until Dark to this book, however, listening at a faster speed slightly improves the overly southern accent. I have not finished listening to this book before deciding to return it so I can’t comment on if it improves as a whole later. I enjoy quirky, funny, paranormal cozy mysteries as a break from much darker genres. The first few chapters, about an hour or more, did not grab my attention. I didn’t feel any connection to the characters and it just felt like small town politics.

Mediocre Magic
This is a mystery storyline without much character depth or development. The villian didn't have much of a motive and I was glad when the book was over.

Never fake a southern accent
I eas unable to finish this book because a. The story is predictable and b. The reader is trying to sound like something she is not, ap southernet.
