This whole project has meant so much to me from when I first sat down to really pay close attention to the Sermon on the Mount, and to turn these words into songs. This came at a time when I was finishing up my first seminary degree. I was studying and preparing to be ordained as a pastor in my denomination, and I felt like of all things to focus on, I really needed to know what Jesus actually said. I still think that it's so important to come back to these words time and time again, to focus on these teachings, to practice applying them to our lives. What I have found to be true is that whether or not you claim to be a Christian, these teachings of wisdom invite us into so much more for our lives.
