A city girl and a broken down car.
A one-night stand with a sexy mechanic.
How to find a wedding date at the last second:
1) Overheat your car on your cross-country road trip
2) Make sure it's storming
3) Have a one-night stand with the sexiest mechanic you've ever seen
Liam is the perfect rebound to bring to my sister's wedding.
And with my car still on the fritz, it can't hurt to have a sexy mechanic along for the ride, right?
I'm not looking for anything serious. Not after my last horrible breakup.
Besides, Liam is such a cocky jerk. I can barely stand listening to him. Although I love looking at his handsome face and ripped, gorgeous body.
The man works well with his hands, and he's great at running his mouth, too.
I can't trust this arrogant mechanic. But maybe I'll let him have another ride.
I'm an asshole, and I know it.
And you know what? I don't give a sh*t.
But one look at Haley turns me into a steel rod.
She wants me along for the ride. Luckily, I'm always up for an adventure.
I'll say whatever she wants to her family if it means I get another night tasting that sweet honey nectar of hers.
There's just one problem. Our fake relationship is starting to feel all too real.
I want to bring Haley back to Blackwell with me.
Now I just have to convince her....

Lacks heart, too much sex, narration crazy
I really enjoyed the first book in this series and was super excited to see this book was part of the romance audible package! Unfortunately, the audio wasn’t my favorite. The female narrator did a great job, but the male narrator was too over the top. Liam sounds like an old trucker, which wasn’t a great thing when Liam is supposed to be sexy. The sex scenes sounded rather ridiculous.
This story also lacked heart and felt like it was written in a rush. I’ve read a couple of Miller’s books and have always enjoyed them and thought he did a good job of connecting with the female perspective, but I didn’t get that with this book. I tend not to read the books by male authors because they miss some of the emotion I like to read about; there are some I enjoy though, and Miller was among them, but this one didn’t connect with me.
Liam is a bit too gross at times and it was tough to find him attractive. Also, Liam is beyond rude, uses physical force on and uses the “B” word in regards to a stranger in desperate need of help; turns out to be the heroine, Haley, so that right there had him needing to improve quite a lot for my liking.
They have sex way too much in this book as well, and they are complete strangers who have sex with no protection or any talk of it. Liam also ends up withholding important information from Haley, and there’s a scene where Liam is pretty much fingering her under the table around her family. Eww! Actually, most of the sex scenes didn’t quite work for me.
There are some sweet moments though and I liked the pretend date scenario. There’s also a little twist that added an interesting angle to the story. I was disappointed how Liam handled this though. The story is entertaining and I did like Haley. She’s feisty!
I’ll try more of Miller’s books because the previous books were enjoyable. I suppose this one wasn’t too bad either, just needed a little more heart to it, so I’d still recommend it. Just maybe stay away from the audio, or listen with the expectation of laughing at some crazy narration.
Was totally engrossed with this book!
This book was absolutely wonderful! The characters were well defined and fascinating to read about. The changes in the characters, particularly the Mechanic was fun and interesting to follow. The narrator was excellent. Looking forward to the next in the series.
Brought the book to life
Wow, it’s been a while since I read the book and boyyo this audio version is smoking hot.
I’m blushing just reading it, how did Mickey Miller do writing this 😯
The narrators did a fine job of bringing it to life. Really enjoyed this audiobook.
