It's no surprise that when they try and talk to each other, chaos breaks out. In The Culture Map, INSEAD professor Erin Meyer is your guide through this subtle, sometimes treacherous terrain in which people from starkly different backgrounds are expected to work harmoniously together.

Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

Description
Brought to you by Penguin.
Instant New York Times best seller.
The revolutionary movement behind the explosive growth of Intel, Google, Amazon and Uber.
With a foreword by Larry Page and contributions from Bono and Bill Gates.
Measure What Matters is about using Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), a revolutionary approach to goal-setting, to make tough choices in business.
In 1999, legendary venture capitalist John Doerr invested nearly $12 million in a startup that had amazing technology, entrepreneurial energy and sky-high ambitions, but no real business plan. Doerr introduced the founders to OKRs and with them at the foundation of their management, the startup grew from 40 employees to more than 70,000 with a market cap exceeding $600 billion. The startup was Google.
Since then Doerr has introduced OKRs to more than 50 companies, helping tech giants and charities exceed all expectations. In the OKR model objectives define what we seek to achieve and key results are how those top priority goals will be attained. OKRs focus effort, foster coordination and enhance workplace satisfaction. They surface an organisation's most important work as everyone's goals from entry-level to CEO are transparent to the entire institution.
In Measure What Matters, Doerr shares a broad range of first-person, behind-the-scenes case studies, with narrators including Bono and Bill Gates, to demonstrate the focus, agility and explosive growth that OKRs have spurred at so many great organisations.
This audiobook will show you how to collect timely, relevant data to track progress - to measure what matters. It will help any organisation or team aim high, move fast, and excel.

Only real 5 out of 5
This is the only true 5 out of 5 book. This is my first read, but about to buy the paper copy to do a deep dive and become an “evangelist”.

Enjoyed the book - a fresh approach to transparent objective setting and execution. Good case studies included. Not overly complicated or lengthy. In short, well worth the read.

Could have been a blog post
Nothing truly groundbreaking here. It’s just a simple process of setting actionable and somewhat measurable goals. A secondary idea is weekly one on one meetings between managers and their direct reports. This wasn’t novel even 10 years ago. I wouldn’t bother with this book. If you get the basic concept of OKRs — and you can get it in about 500 words — then this book doesn’t any further nuance or insight.

Fantastic insights & practical methods.
I really loved this book. so much insight. I can't wait to read it again and implement.
I live how they had specific examples from different business and it was also really nice that they got those people to read their sections.
I want to read it again so I don't miss a thing.

Awesome take on goals!
Will take the nuggets here with me in my practise as a people leader and entrepreneur.
This codifies everything that is wrong with performance Management and sets forward an awesome, yet practical and measurable approach for setting gos, translating these into actionable that everybody can get excited about and rally to achieve and to measure the entire journey, to know when a goal has been achieved and thus redirect resources to other goals or set new ones; or to know when a goal is no longer achieveable or relevant.
Thanks John for the gift of these insights!

Inspiring stuff
Loved the book. Hearing the business leaders speaking was a great way to ingest the story. You can feel the passion John has for this topic. The OKR CFR tool can be such a powerful way to motivate and align people to achieve more.

Interesting but too bloated for an audio book
I do like the idea of OKRs and see their benefits. For me there were too many filler stories though which made it hard for me to focus over a longer period of time without having my mind wandering off and missing out on content.
I'd suggest reading the book on this one.
