Description
Attorneys Landon Holt and Carly Pachett want the exact same thing: the only open partnership spot at their prestigious criminal defense firm. When Landon and Carly are forced to collaborate on the defense of one of the firm’s A-list celebrity clients in a high-profile murder case, there’s no question the assignment is a test to see which one of them will get the promotion. Fierce determination to stand out fuels the already heated rivalry between them, but all those late nights working on legal strategy also fan the flames of attraction. When it comes to the verdict, will they compromise their careers for love?

Sad to say I'm disappointed
I am a huge fan of Ms. Vincent....HUGE. But I'm sad to say she struggled mightily with her America accent. Ms. Vincent is so very gifted with so many other accents but in this book her characters would go from East coast to southern to a bit of Europe all in the same character. It detracted from the story and, to me, prevented her from providing enough emotion and feeling between the main characters. I feel terrible writing this about her because I adore her so much. The story itself was boring for me. It took too long for them to connect and their connection wasn't believable because of the lack of emotion and proper inflection. Overall, it didn't do it for me but other reviews seem to love it so I hope you do too.

Awful performance
The book is okay (if a bit predictable). But the narration was so bad, it was distracting. The narrator's accent changes from British to Southern to NY to Boston randomly. I can live with that (I'm sure most fake British accents are awful to listen to for Brits). But words are pronounced incorrectly throughout. It is so distracting. You can't not know how to pronounce some of these words. It made the whole experience a bit painful.

Excellent!
I loved Love's Verdict by Carsen Taite. Beautifully and artfully narrated by Nicola V. Vincent. Excellent story, plot and characters. It the kind of book where when you get who the vilan is, you have to go "Oh, No!" The suspense builds beautifully.

Great potential
I loved the story line and felt the author could have added another 20 chapters and really take this novel into the thriller/mystery category instead of just lesbian romance. there is only 1 LOVE scene and I do love erotica but the storyline had me hooked so I didn't mind. The narrator which I am sure is very good at was she does was just not right for this role. I kept having a hard time with her having a Boston accent or if English was her first language.

Loved it
Story line was interesting, characters well developed. Narration? Well, I usually love Nicola V Vincent when she narrates in her British accent, I didn’t care much for her attempt to narrate in a Texan accent.

A fantastic lesbian legal drama.
I love Carden Taite's writing style so much that I ran out and bought two more of her books while I was still listening to this. Her characters are fantastic, I especially loved Landon, but they were all well done and developed.
If you at all enjoy legal dramas and like a good lesbian romance, then this is a good option for you. It follows several of the genre tropes of each, but it uses them well and avoids letting them run the story for the most part. In the end, it's a previously sweet romance with some very loveable characters, who all feel real.
The narrator does a good job with the performance and reading, but her Boston accent is a little disconcerting when everyone is in Texas, and only grows stranger when she actually uses a Texan accent for one character. It doesn't detract from the book and it's easily ignorable, but it's an odd choice.

Good story. Enjoyable.
This story is well written. It captures your attention early on even tho the killer was predictable. I did find myself hooked. While this narrator and author are my favorites, I couldn’t get over the accent. Vincent did a decent job, but the accent made it hard to differentiate between the two main characters. That’s why I took one star away. Still it’s worth a listen as all of Taite’s books are amazing.

The verdict is...
An excellent book from an exceptional author. The book is well worth the read. While the narrator is also good, her New England accent clashed with the Dallas setting. Couple that with a few mispronounced words as it was sometimes hard to stay in the midst of the story. I still recommend the book, especially to fans of love in litigation.

A slight bit predictable
while I thought towards the end of the book seemed a bit predictable it still didn't ruin the book for me.
From about chapter 11 I already knew (because of the hints) Who was responsible for Trevor's ex's deaths.
The Romance wasn't rushed and it didn't oversaturate the story. The sex scenes we're short and quick which is how I like it.
Though both women played vital parts to the story in the way that they were both different and offered different parts of themselves to help solve their case.
The ending was great. The epilogue was rushed in the way that it felt A little too Perfect and unbelievable.
