Expected so much more!
I expected so much more from Cameron. No climax. No excitement. The idea of the diary was great but fell short.

Clancy Brought Two People Together
I loved reading this book, and just finished! Clancy certainly is a matchmaking dog when it comes to getting JayB and Alana together! Although, he certainly had feelings for Phoebe, Dominique’s dog, but I liked that Dominique at the end of the story lets Clancy permanently let him see Phoebe more at the dog park with JayB and Alana working as a dog walking team and co-owning their restaurant JayB’s Dad, Walter, wanted to see come true for dogs and dog owners!

Overall, delightful dog-perspective
It took awhile for Mattie’s (Maddie’s?) & Rodney’s idiocy to become funny. And Cameron has an odd way of over-enunciating t’s in the middle of a word. But the feeling he gives to the dialog is perfect. JB’s & Alana’s shared mildly sarcastic reactions to Walter, Rodney & Maddie were delightful; & Alana’s gentle reactions to them made me like her. At the end, tho, no mention of why Maddy & Rodney decided to stick around, or how they’re paying their living expenses if they’re not getting a salary, or whether they’d started being paid again. I thought there was a good balance between dog stuff & people stuff, liked how everything was all seen thru Clancy’s eyes. (Ok, he has a rather amazing command of the English language, but hey—it’s a novel.) The 2nd to last diary entry about the coonhound was touching—& required Kleenex.

I love this book and the author.
I'm a dog lover and each book brings me to the center of my core with all of my dog loving emotions. Love, Clancy is sweet and a I could feel every emotional Clancy was feeling. This book brought me peace and joy.

A dogs point of view …
Thoroughly enjoyed this story as told by Clancy a good dog. Made me appreciate my good boy even more. It’s light hearted and touching.

Funniest Cameron book yet
Pure love! This is one of Cameron’s funniest books yet. Not only is seeing the world from a dog’s perspective endlessly entertaining, but the characters in this book are a whole other level of hilarity. From the clueless ‘ex’ girlfriend with the Norm McDonald level of malaprops, to the lottery winning dad thinking his cash flow is endless, I giggle snorted through this entire novel. The author narrates the audiobook and is the perfect voice for Clancy the yellow lab. I was so enjoying the book that I purchased the hard cover and turned the pages as Bruce read to me. He has a gift for interesting and realistic characters, and solid, entertaining and plausible story lines. I couldn’t put it down and now am sorry I finished it. I’ve got the oddest craving for bacon……

Beyond words
This audio book is so good I can’t even give words to describe it. I especially like it when authors narrate their own books, Mr. Cameron’s voice is pleasant to listen to and keeps you waiting for what’s going to happen next. He does a great job giving Clancy a voice. I am a lover of all animals, especially dogs , and I am guilty of anthropomorphizing animals. I love listening to hear Clancy tell his story. The author does character development so you really get to know everyone. This book made me laugh and cry. My 14 year old Alaskan Husky liked going for car rides so he could listen to”Love, Clancy.
