À propos de ce contenu audio

Lockwood & Co. might be the smallest (some might say shambolic) Psychic Detection Agency in London. But its three agents - Lockwood, Lucy and George - are exceptional Talents. And they get results. When an outbreak of ghostly phenomena grows to terrifying levels in Chelsea, Scotland Yard is left baffled.

Even more baffling is that Lockwood & Co appear to have been excluded from the huge team of Agents investigating the Chelsea Outbreak. Surely this is the perfect chance for them to show once and for all that they're actually the best in town? Well, that's if they can put aside their personal differences for long enough to march into action with their rapiers, salt and iron . . .

Ghouls and spectres, thrills and tension in this brand-new instalment in Jonathan Stroud’s bestselling series.

'Stroud is a genius' - Rick Riordan, author of the Percy Jackson series.

I disagree with the other comments giving low score for the interpetion. the narrator did such a good job having different tones and voices for each character. i do understand that is disturbing to change from one narrator to another one because you are used to a voice, but this narrator makes you feel like you are living the story and that's hard to do. well done!

very talented narrator

I really enjoy Jonathan Stroud's prose and imagination, the contents of his storytelling.

This is the third time I am listening to the Lockwood books. I remember enjoying the voice of Emily Bevan the first time, and now, I wonder how I could. Emily Bevan opted to distinguish voices by adding lisps, nasal sounds and, even more upsetting to me, by exagerating the emotions of the characters, especially the female ones. The reader truly puts her interpretation upon the story, has an undeniable influence on it. For example, in this tome, there is a component of jealousy and playing with jealousy, that can be interpreted either as low burning and mixed in with misunderstanding, or a full out competitive game between two females. The choice of Emily Bevan gives us the chick fight in all its foolishness and unglory, which doesn't quite fit with the rest of the story. Anyway, I prefer the readers who are calmer, and leave a broader freedom of interpretation to the listener. Also, quit those grating voices please !

I love the story Stroud is a genius! but I despise the way it is read (all those snuffing voices she takes). the tow first readers were so much better... such a shame. and as she also reads the tow last books I'm not sure to by them.

badly read
