    Description

Businesses hoping to survive over the long term will have to remake themselves into better competitors at least once along the way. These efforts have gone under many banners: total quality management, reengineering, rightsizing, restructuring, cultural change, and turnarounds, to name a few. In almost every case, the goal has been to cope with a new, more challenging market by changing the way business is conducted. A few of these endeavors have been very successful. A few have been utter failures. Most fall somewhere in between, with a distinct tilt toward the lower end of the scale. John Kotter is renowned for his work on leading organizational change. In 1995, when this article was first published, he had just completed a 10-year study of more than 100 companies that attempted such a transformation. Here he shares the results of his observations, outlining the eight largest errors that can doom these efforts and explaining the general lessons that encourage success.

    Practical and helpful

Easy to use advice. Thirty minutes of time might have just saved me literally years of wasted effort and heartache at work.

    Thoroughly worthwhile.

Excellent narration of a tight summary of a fundamental change process and common but potentially critical mistakes to avoid. Exceptionally valuable, especially at the price.

Good thing I love this stuff

I love this wonky stuff. Everyone else in the family/car begged me to turn it off. We are not sure if it was read by a human or a computer.

    The content though is brilliant.

I'm searching for the medium length version of this now.

It'd be great to know who the companies referred to were (but I know they'd never allow their names used).

So, all is well that ends well.

    A summary of reminders

To making changes. Useful to listen to it several times as once may not be sufficient to grasp what seems to be small simple details.

    Leider ein bisschen zu oberflächlich

Leider ein bisschen zu oberflächlich und zu pauschal.
Außerdem bekommt man die 8 Thesen bei fast allen "Basisschulungen" zu Veränderungsprozessen zu hören.
