Mina is single and young and has been diagnosed with breast cancer. This audio presentation follows Mina and her journey to explore society’s emphasis on breasts as she makes a difficult decision regarding her treatment.
Young women face many different struggles from older breast cancer patients. They are still in the their childbearing years, and the effects of cancer treatment can prevent them from not only breastfeeding but also from conceiving. Younger breast cancer patients often have difficulty with self-esteem and having the confidence to date.
Mina struggles with these issues and meets a collection of characters on her journey to figure out what she wants from life, ultimately embracing her power to live life boldly.
Keepingabreast is a full-cast performance starring Amy McFadden as Mina and featuring Tanya Eby, Kyle Los, Craig Powers, and Kate Rudd in multiple roles. Keepingabreast uses comedy, cynicism, and a touching story to address a very real issue.
