Brings Warriors to life!

I have loved this series since I was 13 and was so excited to see that they finally narrated the whole first Arc...The others arcs are out of order and I hope they fix those as well but that's not why I am here. MacLeod Andrews is a perfect narrator for Firepaw and I love the energy he brings to the books. He has always made the stories more alive with his emphasis and narration style.

The story itself is fresh and exciting and makes you wish you were a cat and every cat you will see the rest of your life will have a warrior name and backstory by the time you are done petting it. Im not joking...its like, a problem.

The only comment I have is that I don't like Graypaws lisp...like whats up with that? Haha

Amazing!

Perfect narration. Wish Graystripe didn't have a lisp, but oh well. Can't wait to start the next one.

As a child I missed out...

On such a great story! I recall wanting to read Warriors but as I got older, my eye sight had gotten increasingly worse. Now I can hardly focus my eyes on one sentence, forget having to read a paragraph multiple times to understand what I read! I'm so happy that Audible finally released a audiobook of this series! I found this book charming, witty, and very emotional for a story about cat clans. I was surprised to find that the book was actually quite violent and dark, not too much though. I also enjoyed the narrator's take on the voices he was depicting. I know some didn't like Greypaw's lisp but I found it rather endearing and gave him personality. I didn't find it annoying at all but to each their own. I definitely recommend reading this book. I've been suggesting it to everyone. The best I can describe it is that it's the Secret of Nimh or Watership Down of cats!

Boy runs away from loving home to join gang war

This is probably a great book for the young teen crowd, but it’s going to leave deeper readers wanting. TL;DR at the review end for those who want it.

It’s about a young cat who abandons a life of dull “Kittypet” softness for the wild, full life he was made for. Also because the food was bad. And then he got clued in that at his next vet visit they were going to cut off his... so anyway, it’s easy to understand the main character’s motivations and relate to him. Also gave me some backstory closure for a personal cat pet that mysteriously disappeared from our own family some time ago. ;)

From there he gets embroiled in an ongoing clan war, and strives to prove himself and take his place in the greater world.

Editing was good as well. It’s mostly free of the little touches that break you out of the story world. Overused adjectives (I’m looking at YOU, Stephen Moss), and comparisons the characters wouldn’t know to make (the caveman grunted at the light in his eyes that blinded him like a camera flash) are fairly well smoothed out making the story seamless. It’s the little things that make a story shine.

That said, there’s a fair amount of eye rolling.

The main character gets needlessly renamed twice in the story. And the names are quite uncreative. Almost everyone is a SomethingClaw or a ColorPaw. For instance, the three Apprentice cats in the story are ALL Paws (Firepaw, Graypaw, Ravenpaw). That could have been done really well if it were self-aware. “Look, here come the PawPrentices” or such. As written it comes off as the author just not putting any effort into naming beyond taking whatever an online random fantasy name generator spits out.

Then the NEEDLESS prologue. It literally acts as a spoiler for the entire story. The plot isn’t that complex, and a good reader will quickly catch on to who’s on the level, and who has rotten fur between their claws. But after the prologue there’s just no suspense in the story.

I also have to give praise to the reader. MacLeod Andrews is definitely in my top 10 narrators, especially after Brandon Sanderson’s Steelheart series. Excellent voice work. Characters are distinguishable and memorable (though I did catch myself wonding why Prof and Megan were suddenly cats).

TL;DR:
Great story for teens, SKIP THE PROLOGUE.

Awesome enjoyment and peaceful car rides!

Would you listen to Into the Wild again? Why?

We have started audio books as a way to make car rides peaceful. This book captured the love of my 6, 9 and 11 year old children! Momma too!

AMAZING

I love this book. I have read it before, and I am very happy with the performance the voice works very well with the main character my only complaint is the voice he used for Graypaw however overall it was definitely really good.
