The book of Jonah is so much more of a story about a man getting eaten by a fish. It is a book that reveals a God who is actively working to bring about the salvation of his people. From his commission to Jonah, and his appointing of nature to perform tasks necessary to accomplish his will, God is displayed as actively working in bringing about his sovereign purposes. This book is overwhelmingly about one thing: the inescapable grace of God.
