Description

Rule number one for a professional matchmaker?
Don’t fall in love with your client. I screwed that up when I fell for my best friend, Reid Fortino.

He’s gorgeous, successful, and sexy as hell. I figured it would be easy to find him a match - and save the family business at the same time. But the more time I spend attempting to find the perfect girl, the more I realize how much I want him for my own.

What’s the harm if we give in for just one night? I should have known that would never be enough. Now I’m on the verge of losing my job and my heart. We were an imperfect match from the start, but I don’t know how to let him go.

Sexy...sexy...🔥🔥🔥 ⭐⭐⭐

I missed Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke together. The narration was fantastic. No it wasn't the best or original story but the fabulous narration helped keep me involved with the story. Andi is already at the top of her game and Jason...you just get better and better..thump..thump goes my heart. Yes the daddy issues get tiresome at times but I enjoyed listening to these characters and their story.

THE IMPERFECT MATCH WAS A PERFECT ROM/COM

These two best-selling authors, along with these two talented narrators, pretty much guaranteed this sweet friends-lovers dual POV story would be a match made in Heaven.. and I (like Willow and Reed) fell deeply and hopelessly in love. It was funny, sexy, thought provoking, heartbreaking and heartwarming as two platonic best friends, with total opposite life goals, suddenly saw what had been in front of them for three years.. their soul-mates.

Reed didn’t want the white picket fence.. or the wife.. or the children who’d live there - but Willow desperately did and the alarm on her biological clock was blaring out now.. now.. now. Their journey to the HEA ending wasn’t without its struggles, giggles, rocky roads, tough decisions and tissues and ice cream moments. But thankfully Corinne and Melanie plotted out their true love route perfectly with a balanced course of well-placed feels, loveable characters, humorous secondary characters and good character growth. However, it was my two absolute favorite narrators who brought the characters to life, injected the passion, the pain and the pleasures into the well-crafted words.. and made six hours go by in a blink of an eye it was that good.

Worth a credit? 100% Yes.. but they’re giving it away on Audible’s Escape Package making this a big smiles and happy thoughts day for me. And p.s., any filmmakers out there, I’d pay good money to see this rom com on the big screen.. wink wink fingers crossed just saying :)

Loved it

This was one of the most realistic romances that I have listened to in a long time and well worth the credit.

Arndt and Clarke are the best thing about this book

I was severely disappointed in this one. I usually enjoy Melanie Harlow’s work and have a great respect for Corrine Michael’s craft, but this was not on par what has come before. There is zero character development here, one thing I need my reads/listens to deliver above all. If it wasn’t for the fact that the H and h began the story as friends, the reader would have no idea why they are even together. Any so called ‘growth’ of character ring hollow and happen within mere pages. And the confrontation between the H and the embodiment of his issues (his father) and supposedly builds to the resolution that follows falls flat. As other reviewer‘s have noted, while the romance genre relies heavily on certain predictable tropes, it’s how the writers build those tropes that sets a story apart. There is nothing that sets this story apart except the narrators’ performances and there are times when even that is not enough. And when it’s narrators as wonderful as Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke, there is definitely a problem with the material.

Cute but Predictable

This story fell a bit flat for me. There isn't much build up, not much angst. The second Willow reveals that her best friend is the guy who lives across the hall, I knew where the story was going.

I enjoyed their chemistry and how they complimented each other very well. I really liked the Aspen character, oddly enough. The matchmaker story line is intriguing, but Aspen's personality and ability to sense things was what elevated that plot above boring.

Reid's stubbornness to not change, to not budge, and how he got upset at the idea that Willow wanted him to cave into what she wanted when that was exactly what he was insisting she do for what he wanted was a bit over the top for me. And then the resolution of that dichotomy happened so fast, it truly was unrealistic. I remember thinking "yeah right" as Reid resolves the conflict in the story.

Andi Arndt knocks every performance out of the park. I think this might be only the second narration of Jason Clarke's that I've listened to, but I loved his performance.

All in all, it was a cute story. Predictable, but cute. And I can always enjoy a book with the friends to lovers trope.

Friends to lovers to life partners

This story was great. I loved Willow and Reid's story. I love when a story has a great background foundation when it comes to a couple. Willow and Reid have been BFFs for a long time. Everyone around knows that they should be together but they think that is weird.

When they do get together you can tell how much they complaint one another. As this progresses a lot of the issues that they had as friends were never worked out and when they start dating part of them think that things will be solved so why bother.

The scene when they break up was heart wrenching. As a person who has broken up with someone that you thought you were going to be with forever I connected to that scene. The ending was cute and I am glad they worked out their issues.

I really want a book for Aspen and for Liam, Willow and Reid's siblings respectfully. I think their books are going to be great!

I also enjoyed Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke as Willow and Ried. They were committed to these characters and the pain in their voices drew me in.

When a book has it all 😍😍😍

I'm so glad I listened to this book. It was sweet, funny, had the right amount of issues but not too much drama. The narration was simply perfect. I enjoyed this light hearted listen and will be listening again.
