Easy read! Every couple should read this book!

I couldn't quit listening. I finished it in a day! I enjoyed the facts based on research. He tells you what most others are afraid to talk about.

Content is great but...

As you listen to the author speak you will hear several times there phone ringing and somebody’s voice in the back ground as well, which can be very distracting. Also, I feel that the author might not take enough breaks in between reading the book and he ends up sounding robotic at times and his voice is pasty. I do the content is great.

Great book.

Great writing. Great reading. Author used examples that made concepts easy to understand. I finished it in 3 days. I learnt that it takes more than just saying 'I am committed to you' to make a marriage work. I am more enlightened about marriage as I prepare for mine.

If you can get past a few biased comments in his examples you will find this book a wonderful aid in personal and couple growth.

clearest, most prescriptive marriage-help book

I've read many marriage books. and none have explained the difference between a man and a woman's needs as much as Dr. Harley has here. not only do i feel i understand my wife more, but i now have specific instructions on what I can do better. I don't like how he used the negative aversion of an affair through his cautionary tales of sultry infidelity to motivate people to be better spouses. But I understand that most of his exposure to marital issues was through the lens of clients who were in the midst of affairs.

Well thought out and practical

Enjoyed listening to this so practical and the examples made the content easier to consume. highlight was the love bank concept it clearly articulates how I feel when my partner earns or looses points by not meeting my emotional needs.

LOOOVE THIS BOOK!!

I absolutely LOVE this book. I would recommend this to everyone, especially if you’re in a relationship and even before you’re married as it also gives you things to think of and to better prepare yourself for marriage. It offers perspective on BOTH ends and before you’re done you already have a great understanding of how your significant other might think and the reason they may behave the way they do. This would actually make a great wedding gift too for your friends and family. Thanks to this book, I have a renewed appreciation for my significant other and have figured out ways in which I can best apply the suggestions provided in the most effective way.
