Description

When they were only teenagers, Axel and Caxton were caught making out in the woods at church camp. And afterward, Cax had disappeared from all the youth group activities.

Six years later Axel is astonished to spot his first love's face in the crowd of a college basketball game he's watching on television - at a school that has just offered him a job. It's a thousand miles away, in a tiny rural town. But suddenly he can't wait to get there.

Cax can't believe his eyes when Axel appears in the same Massachusetts town where he now lives. And he's still just as drawn to him as ever. But he can't let himself go there again, because loving Axel will mean giving up everything else he holds dear.

Both men have so much to lose. But as far as their love is concerned, it's Hello Forever.

✫✫ 5 Stars ✫✫

I was hoping for more of Caleb and Josh in this book but I still enjoyed this book very much. This is absolutely a stand alone so if you haven't read book 1, you should because it was amazing but you don't have to to understand this one.

I love that all of the MM books I've read by Sarina Bowen have characters that have known each other forever, that always helps me fall in love quickly with the love story. These two have some serious obstacles to work around to be together but they handle it beautifully. I love that this book had zero self created drama and that ending had me swooning!!! Great book!!

The narration was great, I'm a huge fan of Teddy Hamilton so I knew I'd love the narration but the were both great.

5 Hello Forever Stars

When I first started this book I thought… OH No not another one where the man can’t accept who he is.

But I kept on reading because it is Sarina Bowen and she hasn’t steered me wrong yet.

And I found that I really enjoyed Axel and Caxton’s story because one accepts who he is and the other learns to accept himself because of the other one.

It really is a great story of finding yourself even when the odds feel like they are against you.

I hope Sarina writes more MM because she just makes you feel so many things for these strong men who want and need love too.

The narration was fanfreakingtastic as always when these two preform together.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Enjoyable story; mediocre narration

I enjoyed the first book in this series much more than this, but it was still very good. Much like the last book, Teddy Hamilton did a great job, but Dake Bliss just did not fit and kind of ruined the flow of the story.

There were a couple of editing errors too that were so egregious they should be mentioned: At one point Josh (or Caleb?) said they’re going to “Maggie & Dylan’s.” Did Maggie divorce Daniel and marry someone named Dylan? Did the narrator read it wrong? Or did the author forget her character’s name? Also, during one of the sexy times, the narrator said, “he groined.” I’m assuming he meant “groaned,” so, again, either the narrator misread it or it was a typo and the narrator was being a pro and read it verbatim. Either way, it made me laugh out loud. :)

Stay away. One of the narrators (Dake Bliss) is awful

Someone below said it and I thought “come on how bad can the guy be?” But yikes he’s awful. From the fact that it seems like he’s using less professional equipment that your standard audible narrator (I have to turn up the volume five extra notches for his as compare to Teddy’s) to the fact that he is so stilted in his “performance” (I use that word so loosely.) Where as Teddy is truly what you’re used to from great audiobook narrators this other guy (Dake...dank) is reading poorly and doing such a stilted.....job of it. (That weird ellipses pause there is what it’s......like to hear him read the book) honestly I’m trying to decide if I should ask for money back because wow. Please only listen to this as a last resort. Read it or just skip this story overall. That’s how bad the performance is to hear. I truly love the author’s other works but this is a painful listen.

I REALLY LOVED THIS ONE!! GREAT STORY!!!

If you could sum up Hello Forever in three words, what would they be?

Beautiful, Sexy, Awesome!!

What did you like best about this story?

The love these 2 guys had for each other...they were childhood sweethearts...they were meant to be!! LOVED!!!

Have you listened to any of Dake Bliss and Teddy Hamilton ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have...this one was better than book 1...Older characters and they were more settled into each other I think...It just clicked better!!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Both!! My heart is so full now!!

Any additional comments?

Axel and Cax!!! Ohhh these poor young men just wanted to be together..to love each other freely and Cax's dad was a total D Bag...he tried everything to keep them apart..threats first.and when it didnt work...Violence....But true love is unbreakable....and in the end it prevailed...I love Sarina Bowen books!! I need more!!

TOTALLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Stop with the unusual character names!

Overall I really enjoyed this story. I thought the narrators did a great job, though I really enjoy Teddy Hamilton in everything he does. My only real issue was the character's names: Caxton & Axel. I mean, Axel is a stretch, but who names their child Caxton. For me it was an unnecessary distraction. Perhaps, however, it's my Gen X brain that can't wrap around it. Otherwise good book.

First loves and second chances! 5+ stars!

Ah, the adoration I have for this book continues on even after two and a half years! Hello Forever is the second book in Sarina Bowen's Hello Goodbye duet (originally released as It's Never Over in the Pay It Forward duet and published under the pen name Nealy Wagner. Both Hello Goodbye and its predecessor, Goodbye Forever, can be listened to independently of each other but I highly recommend that you listen to them in order, what with recurring characters showing up here, particularly Joshua Royce and Caleb Smith from the first book. Neither is overly long, so I think one listening weekend will suffice nicely.

Here we meet Axel Armitage and Caxton Williams. They became the best of friends over the summers they spent together at a church retreat, but when they're both sixteen, they're caught kissing each other and never see one another again. Six years pass before Axel's and Cax's paths criss-cross again when Axel moves to Massachusetts to work in the athletics department of Barmuth University. The last thing Axel expects is to spy a familiar face watching a basketball game, but he's not mistaken. It's none other than Cax, the boy he's never forgotten. Could this be their first shot at closure or a second chance at forever?

Sarina Bowen's wonderful second-chance romance paired together with the awesome narration of Dake Bliss and Teddy Hamilton made for one of my favorite experiences in my years of listening to audiobooks (and we're talking as far back as when audiobooks were still on cassette tapes!). I loved Axel and Cax's story and my heart broke for both of them when the reason for the abrupt end to their friendship was revealed. This had a completely different feel compared to the first book--both fantastic tales with excellent narration. Hello Forever easily gets five-plus stars and is now one of my all-time favorites. ♥

1 great narrator & 1 set of nails on a chalkboard

Teddy Hamilton is always great and Sarina Bowen does light escapist romance as well as anyone, but Dake Bliss — even his name makes me cringe! His voice reminds me of the voice of actor Thomas Hayden Church, which grated on me so much in an episode I watched of that show ”Divorce” (the way he said, “What the actual fuck?” made my ears shudder) made me feel so hostile that I just couldn’t watch it at all. Dake Bliss somehow combines the “dude” voice with a stilted, uptight “I-am-reading-and-I-am-extremely-un-com-for-ta-ble” reading style that just keeps popping me right out of the story and reminiscing me it’s *just* a story, especially when he’s paired with the fantastic Teddy Hamilton! I’m listening to TH and I get caught up in the story because he plays it so naturally that I feel like I’m listening to a friend tell me about a date, and then suddenly the voice of DB takes over and wrecks it with his clumsy rendition: he’s so obviously reading off the page —and often not *well* that I can never lose myself in the story (and this is the second book I’ve listened to with his narration) — he doesn’t have a natural rhythm and almost never sounds like he’s just talking or telling a story— he doesn’t make the character or the words *his*, so as much as I want to love this book, I just can’t. Maybe some people love his style, but I just can’t. Hopefully he’ll improve with more experience.

Beautiful

I love that Sarina Bowen put her MM books on KU because while I don't read many MM books, I've loved reading all of these. This one as well, is poignant and I went from happy to so sad when the prejudice reared its ugly head. This story showcases how illogical hatred leads to violence that can physically and emotionally damage people. Thankfully, in this story, there is an HEA for Axel and Cax, although in real life this doesn't always happen and how horrifying is it that people are hated just because of who they love?

Anyway, off my soapbox, this was a beautiful story and I loved that we also got to revisit Josh and Caleb. :D

I listened to the audiobook through Audible escape and it was great. Teddy Hamilton (sigh) was perfect, as always. I thought that Dake Bliss sounded a little older than the character but he was good too and enjoyed their narration as a whole.
