Description
Ben never thought owning a starship would be easy. He didn’t expect it to be quite like this.
It was one thing to take a job as a smuggler to pay for basic necessities like maintenance, fuel, and food. Another to have one of the most powerful nobles in the galaxy gunning for him at every turn. But when Keep turns up unexpectedly with a new offer that’s even wilder than the last, will it put him on the path toward his true destiny?
Or is it just another con?
The adventure of a lifetime continues in the follow-up to the number-one sci-fi best seller, Starship for Sale. If you like found starships, unlikely heroes, and intergalactic mayhem, you’ll love the Starship for Sale series.

even worse than book 1
I thought I'd give the author and series a second chance. Maybe book 1 was a one off thing. nope I was wrong. not even an hour into book 2 and it is 100% garbage. It isn't marketed as such but I swear these books were written fir the naive youth that's too stupid to know good writing, which this isn't, and the reviews left by others prove my point on that. The MCs are still useless, non-step whining about everything, incapable of actually thinking for themselves without second guessing everything. ZERO ot structure to advance the story, just constantly adding extra filler Characters that serve no purpose except to keep you distracted from the fact that the Author doesn't know how to get to where he's going. Even the narrator portrayal of Ben is aggravation to a new level because he personifies that nasal teenager tone really well.
2 stars for this and I feel bad the narrator has to read this crap.

An intertaining enjoyable story
While the basic nugget for the origin of the story comes from the 1984 movie "The Last starfighter" that is the only part. The rest is a positive creative orginal story. I get tired of the dark space war stories. This is Not that.

Short for one credit.
Good short story. two of these books would be well worth one credit. and the first two books and then cliffhangers. I see where we're going here.

Lacking from book 1
I hoped this story would build from book 1 and it failed. The prison sequence while introducing two new characters was too long and boring. At the half way point the action began again anew and it got me back into the story. Book three looms with our main character about to be tortured. I hope the author does better job moving along.

Yup, still like series. Entertaining and now I truly like the characters. Especially Shack! Darling little creature, but you don’t want to be on his bad side. Looking forward to the next one. Dave does a good job!

Mehhhhh
I love the book because it has little to no vulgarity. It’s an interesting concept. The book is not exciting, nor does it grab your attention.
I have read many many books from Mr. Forbes. This book is fun but barely. The narrator is very good, and in a certain voice range he sounds like will Wheaton, Which is kind of fun and this narrator has a great future in front of him.
