A black swan is a highly improbable event with three principal characteristics: It is unpredictable; it carries a massive impact; and, after the fact, we concoct an explanation that makes it appear less random, and more predictable, than it was. The astonishing success of Google was a black swan; so was 9/11. For Nassim Nicholas Taleb, black swans underlie almost everything about our world, from the rise of religions to events in our own personal lives. Elegant, startling, and universal in its applications, The Black Swan will change the way you look at the world.

Start with Why shows that the leaders who've had the greatest influence in the world all think, act, and communicate the same way - and it's the opposite of what everyone else does. Sinek calls this powerful idea The Golden Circle, and it provides a framework upon which organizations can be built, movements can be led, and people can be inspired. And it all starts with why.

so that's what executives talk about
Would you listen to HBR's 10 Must Reads on Making Smart Decisions again? Why?
yes. so much information, I want to take notes next listen
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
since this isn't a story per say, hard to apply. But perhaps a change of voice for the examples. Even a change for the different chapters.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
He was fine. Just more variety. I listened at the gym and sometimes turned it off because of sameness. That doesn't seem to happen with other features.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I think learning about being preprogrammed and looking for the answer I want instead of the truth.
Any additional comments?
This is a vey helpful book.

Great Collection of Wisdom, Narration not so much
Would you listen to HBR's 10 Must Reads on Making Smart Decisions again? Why?
Yes, the articles provide insight into decision making processes in organizations and lessons can be applied to personal challenges as well.
What did you like best about this story?
Daniel Kahneman's article "Before you make that big decision"
What didn’t you like about James Edward Thomas’s performance?
It's not so much his performance, as the planning of whole process. I.e. All articles have "aside" sections that summarize the ideas discussed. The narrator reads these without any forethought whatsoever. The page that he's one might have nothing to do with the aside bar, but the minute he finishes the paragraph, he starts reading the aside bar. Aside bars should be read after the concept has been introduced, maybe even at the end of a section. Needs better planning.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No

Fast & thorough
The book is fairly detailed for such a short book. The stories shared & the advice given provide a very helpful overview & reminder of concepts used in business. The book also makes reference to other readings available for those who choose to research a particular topic in more detail. Worth the read and/or listen.

A Good Book to understand decision making!
I like the content of the book more than the way its narrated. It's a collection of articles than a cohesive narrative across the book. May be the format of this book made me feel a bit disengaged whenever a reference is made to statistics and data, which you cannot see as it's an audio book.
All in all, it's worth listening to if you dont mind being bored occasionally.

Naja
It is for business people only. And even then I think it could be shortened down to essentials instead of extended story telling. I got bored and had to stop listening to it.
