    Description

We Can Bury the Past, But It Never Really Dies

    Dear Listener,

I am often asked where my stories come from. I'm not always sure. Sometimes a story just comes to me in waves (or trickles) of inspiration and oftentimes it's not until the very end of the book that I see where my characters are taking me. This is such a tale.

Grace is the story of a young runaway girl and the boy who hides her from a frightening world too large and unfathomable for him to comprehend. It is also about two brothers and the love that binds them together through difficult times.

In some ways this is the most autobiographical of all my novels. When I was eight years old my father lost his job, and we sold our home in beautiful and aptly named Arcadia, California, to move to a poor neighborhood in Utah and into a rundown home like the one I describe in the story. I have no fond memories of that time. Not one. I wanted to go home.

I've found my home now, and it has nothing to do with the place where I live, and everything to do with the family I love.

    Sincerely,

    Richard Paul Evans

    Enjoyable Listen

I really enjoyed listening to this book. I actually saw that author discussing the book on TV, and thought it sounded interesting, even though I had never read or listened to his books before. This type of book was a considerable diversion from what I normally listen to, but it was very well done. And the reader was excellent. The story and the reading really evoked an emotional response.

    Excellent story

I really liked this book. Both the story and narrator were excellent. This was the second book I have read by this author, and will definately order more.

    Grace by Richard Paul Evans

Great read! One of his best! I would have read this book much sooner had I know how good it is! Sweet love story, but moments
    that are very poignant.

    A Sweet yet Awful story

This was an intense story for me. I am aware of child abuse on many different levels. And Getting through the book was a bit hard because of that awareness. I kept 2nd guessing even before I read on what was happening and then the Traumatic climax horrible,e horrible way to bring forth knowledge of the abuses inflicted on children...

    Very heartbreaking story

I’ve read a few of Evans’ books and series, but none of them were like this. That ending was almost to tragic, it was very difficult to listen to. I almost burst into tears and I felt all the emotions that the main character felt.

I guess if there is one thing I learned from this, it’s always be prepared for a worst case scenario. Because when things go south, you need to act quickly and with precision.

    Incredibly real!

This book hits the heart of painful stories, not mincing words or apologizing. Just hard core emotions that paint beauty among ashes, words that show from the ugliest this world has to offer, healing and hope can bring inspiration and change. Thank you for this book Richard Paul Evans, as a child advocate this is one of my favorites of yours.
