Description
I never thought I’d find her.
After eight years in the marines, I’m still looking for the mysterious woman I’ve obsessed over since her first letter. When she shows up in my small town, I’m thrilled.
But when she turns out to be my brother’s best friend--and the girl he’s always loved--I’m caught between the two people who matter to me the most.
I’m a marine, which means honor and duty run deep. Joanna is off-limits. That would be a whole lot easier if she hadn’t already agreed to help run my brother’s fishing guide business for the summer, forcing me to work side-by-side with the woman I’ve fantasized about for years. I try to keep her at a distance, push her away, and man up. But she draws me in without even trying, and I can’t get enough of how she makes me feel. I’m stealing moments with her, and I know it’s wrong. She may not be my brother’s girlfriend, but I know a landmine when I see one.
Author's note: Finding You is a scorching hot interconnected stand-alone small-town romance. It is not a love triangle. Finding You is the first book in the Chikalu Falls series set in the fictional Montana town, Chikalu Falls.

Heart-melting small town military romance
Finding You by Lena Hendrix was a gorgeous small-town, off-limits, brother’s best friend, military romance that captured my heart from beginning to end. This is book 1 in the Chikalu Falls Series and follows Lincoln and Joanna’s love story and features:
Grumpy Posessive Marine Hero
Sweet-Sunshine Heroine
SmallTownRomance
MilitaryRomance
Brother’s Best Friend
Off-Limits
ForbiddenLove
Insta-love Fireworks
Lincoln and Joanna finally meet in Chikalu Falls Montana, after 8 years of Joanna writing letters to him anonymously while serving in the marines. During that time, Lincoln didn't know who wrote the letters. He comes home to discover that Joanna is not only the one who write the letters, but is also his brother’s best friend. They face some challenges along the way to their happy ever after: Lincoln thinks Joanna is off-limits, and tries to stay away, but their chemistry is off the charts and the universe keeps pulling them back together. It was full of steam, angst and I absolutely devoured this audiobook.
The audiobook is performed by Stephen Dexter and Charlotte North and is the first time I have heard them paired together, and wow did they absolutely slay this performance!
Stephen captures the grumpy, broody, beautifully broken hero with a heart of gold who is so protective and totally besotted by Joanna.
Charlotte was so delicious as the strong, sweet and kind Joanna and I instantly fell in love with her sweet sunshine and sultry tones and her character.
Stephen and Charlotte both brought the emotion, fun, banter and all the heat with the steamy scenes that will melt you into a puddle! These two are amazing and I’m totally crushing on them!
Overall, I really adored this audiobook. If you are a fan of a heart-warming, beautiful, small-town, military romance with a broody, broken marine and a sweet, independent, caring heroine with a penchant for writing inspiring love letters, then you will love Finding You. A beautiful, heart-warming story, written by a fabulous and new to me author, performed by wonderfully talented actors: All the stars! I’m looking forward to more from Lena Hendrix and looking forward to the next book in this series. All the stars!

A good small-town romance with some nice spice.
Well, I do love an unconventional heroine and Joanna is definitely one. She’s a fly-fishing guide and throughout the book we see her grow in confidence. She also has curves and is proud of them. I love a good broken hero and Lincoln is a wee bit cracked. A returning marine suffering from nightmares with a fierce protective streak, yes please and thank you.
This is a good small-town romance with interesting side characters (I loved Joanna’s sister, Honey). Lena writes some delicious spice to go with this slightly feely romance. Yup, peeping in the showers never felt so gooooooood!
Charlotte is a new narrator to me, and I enjoyed her performance. She showed us the growth in Joanna and her inner strength. I’ve listened to a few titles by Stephen before and once again he did a good job with Lincoln. We definitely get those alpha protective vibes from him.
I did like that once the third act conflict happened they didn’t just kiss and make up straight away there was longing and work to be done first. This is a story of secret pen pals to lovers, a unique theme for sure.
If you are looking for a small-town romance with feels and some nice spice, look no further.

Wooeee…the narration tho!!
Retired Marine, Lincoln, suffers from severe PTSD and the only thing that had kept him going were letters from a woman named Joanna. When Lincoln returns home, he meets Jo and thinks she is his brother’s love interest. Jo had a huge crush on Lincoln but he never responded to her letters. When she finally meets him, it’s hard to not act on those feelings. Can Jo make Linc see that even broken beings need love? Cute story with fantastic narration.

Stephen Dexter Though… 🫠
Okay, Stephen Dexter. Talk dirty to me. Or I mean… he could also read me legal documents. His voice is magic 🫠🫠
Clearly, I listened to the audio. But I also needed the book trophy because this discreet cover is so pretty! 😆
📬 Pen-Pal (one way)
📬 Military Romance
📬 Small Town Romance
📬 Brother’s Best Friend
📬 Forced Proximity
Lincoln receives letters while deployed from a mystery woman. She gives him hope and even though he’s never responded, he’s determined to find her when he moves back home to their small town.
Lena is such a unique story teller. Her voice is quirky and fun and I really enjoyed this book. The narrators did a phenomenal job.

Entertaining, but nothing special
I enjoyed this book, but it was templated and predictable. It has some sexy scenes that upped my rating a little, but there’s just nothing special here. I liked the female narrator, but I’m not wild about the male narrator. He sighs a lot and is a little over dramatic.

Love it 🥰
This was the first time I’ve ever read a book by lena Hendrix. I love that most authors have at least one or two free books by the author because it gives me the opportunity to listen to a book by the author risk-free. So this was one of those books and I have to say if this is the way she writes throughout all of her books I am going to be ecstatic I love the storyline. I love the characters and I love the narrators I’ve heard them read before, but not together for me listening to a book it’s not only the author and his or her writing style that I have to like. To me, the narrator is just as much of a big deal as the author put Lena Hendrix hit a slam dunk. I am already printing out a list of her books in order, so I can start reading from the first one to the last most of my life, the only author I ever Loved and still love is James Patterson, but for almost 3 years now I’ve been listening to these books and I have only found Lexi Blake, Corrine, Michaels, and Helen Hardt set all my favorites. I like Lauren Blakely, but I find that her books are very PG 14, but I have a feeling that Lena Hendrix will be added to my top a list of authors.

I really liked it
I am not a huge book critic, if it has some kind of romance I’m here to listen to it. The voices are perfect for this performance. I really liked the story line too. It had some good romance moments in it. I can’t wait for book 2 to come out.

No real plot line
This book started out really interesting with both characters. Joanna was a bit on relatable because of what she does, but I wanted to give it a chance. After about a third of the way into the book, they literally don’t do anything but have sex and every five minutes is a sex scene and it does get kind of unlistenable.
