Description

The secret to finding out anything you want to know is amazingly simple: Ask good questions. Most people trip through life asking bad questions - of teachers, friends, coworkers, clients, prospects, experts, and suspects. Even people trained in questioning, such as journalists and lawyers, commonly ask questions that get partial or misleading answers.

People in any profession will immediately benefit by developing the skill and art of good questioning. Find Out Anything From Anyone, Anytime will give you the power to:

  • Identify and practice good questioning techniques
  • Recognize types of questions to avoid
  • Know the questions required when hearing
  • Unconfirmed reports or gossip
  • Practice good listening techniques and exploit all leads
  • Determine when and how to control the conversation
  • Gain real expertise fast

Within professional interrogation circles, Pyle is known as a strategic debriefer - meaning there is no one around him more skilled at asking questions and getting answers. He has been training other interrogators in questioning techniques since 1989.

Critiques

"With his style of questioning alone, Jim Pyle can get more information than most other interrogators using multiple techniques." (Gregory Hartley, coauthor of the best-seller How to Spot a Liar)

Good book. Bad narration.

Any additional comments?
I like what the book said.

But I did not like how it was said.

Actually: The performance of the narrator is so bad that I felt the need to write this - my first ever audible review - to warn others that they should choose book over audio this time.

Instead I bought the book for my kindle so I could read it there.

The book itself is informative, practical, in all: Good. Especially recommended for negotiators who wants to improve their questioning techniques to extract information and/or evaluate credibility.

Reader speaks fast and 3/4 speed doesn't help

The book has great information and I'll probably buy the paperback for reference.

The reader spoke too fast. You can tell this is his normal speed, so it's likely he lives in New York city. Sad part is that the audible iPhone app at 3/4 speed made the vocal cadence about right but produced a horrendous echo effect that was even more distracting. Get this on your free credit if you've got nothing better in your wish list, otherwise buy the hard copy for a better experience.

Excellent listen

I really enjoyed the near raider both in cadence and tone. It was extremely enjoyable to listen to. I would recommend this book to fall in law-enforcement investigation’s and those interested in discovering all they are curious about.

read way too fast by performer

Would you try another book from James Pyle and Maryann Karinch and/or Walter Dixon?

Ok book made worse by horrible, too fast narration. pass on buying this book

Good book, narrator was too fast

This was a good basic book about how to ask effective questions. I found the content to be very insightful and it gave me some things to think about.
My only complaint is the narrator. He was very clear and easy to understand, but he just moved way to fast. This left little to no time to really consider the words after a point was made, as he'd just roll right into the next section.
I may listen again, because the content is good, but I'd try playing on slower speed.

Seems audible is at faster talking pace.

Even at speed of 1 it seemed very fast. Tried slowing down but then too slow. Get rid of the word count on reviews
