Could life get any worse for fifteen-year-old Geri? It’s hot. It’s buggy, and she’s at the worst place on the planet … summer camp. To make matters worse, Geri carries the pain of her parents’ separation. Nonetheless, she’ll do anything to make her dreams of going to Juilliard come true, even if that means squashing spiders in the pursuit of a college scholarship.
With Chopin’s sheet music in tow, Geri heads to Flagstaff, Arizona, and finds herself not only pursuing music but a romance with the camp’s most sought-after guy, Ethan. When his ex-girlfriend shows up and threatens not only their relationship but also her dream, Geri sees her chance at the scholarship begin to slip away.
After a compromising situation and secrets about Chloe surface, Geri wonders if winning is the most important thing of all. She needs to decide if she can take steps toward healing, move on from the past, and embrace her future. Will camp be all that Geri thought it would be, or will it hold the keys to healing she never could have imagined?
