Description
Only a few are brave enough to fall....
When Raini desperately needed help, she went to the one person who she knew could save her dying friend...her secretive and ruthlessly powerful anchor, Maddox. His price was that she grant him access to her life, yet he's still determined not to form the anchor bond with Raini. That rejection stings, even while she can't stop her body - or her demon - reacting to his presence.
Maddox is a descendent, a rare breed of demon possessing angelic blood - and Raini knows he'll let someone close when hell freezes over. As a succubus, she's used to men wanting her uncontrollably - and used to having all the power. But while Maddox wants her strictly on his own terms, for the first time she can remember Raini's struggling to keep her own emotions in check.
Yet when someone - or something - starts to target Raini, Maddox's protectiveness goes into overdrive. Suddenly he's finding it harder to keep his secrets and his distance, for nothing seems to matter as much as Raini. As the threat escalates into all-out war, they both have to decide: can they trust the other to catch them if they fall?

🌻The plots are getting repetitive 🙁🌻
🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
I love Suzanne Wright’s books, usually. However, the books, in this series, are all starting to have a similar plot; ie, their anchor tries to resist the natural pull towards the other until their anchor is placed in danger, then the gloves come off and they will do anything to protect the other; then they fall in love….. and so on.
Therefore, this was just an OK listen. It was stil credit worthy but, I didn’t feel the need to devour the book in one day.
Come on SW, come up with some new ideas, for this series!

3.5 stars - audiobook review
I keep being enamored with the Dark in You world and characters, but I’m sad to say I have to withdraw stars for the repetitive scenes and wordings from previous books. Raini and Maddox are interchangeable with Harper and Knox.
It’s really a pity the author can’t hold up with the characters’ voices, because the stories are amazing.
Kat Doucette is a professional narrator with a pleasant voice.

Raini gets her HEA!
I loved this story. One review said it’s repetitive but I respectfully disagree. The premise is unique, the conflicts are too. It’s not formulaic at all.
I always enjoy the bits and pieces we get of Asher and the cameos of the other couples.
In this one, we get know more about Maddox and why he refused the anchor bond with Raini. I loved how their story evolved. Maddox is darker and makes no apologies for it. In a sense, he and Raini balance each other.
Cat Doucette’s narration is as always on point.
I can’t wait for more of this series.

Honest Review
Loved it! The narrator was great and the story as of now is my favorite of the series. I've always been curious to learn more about this main character and was not disappointed. I loved the how it also gives enough of a look into the life style of all the characters from past books, but not enough to overshadow the main plot! What made this book so interesting and fresh was that even though it was the same world and people it was given new information and more world building about things and people all readers wanted to know more about. For instance, the descendants and their prime Maddox. Also, learning about a whole new breed of demons and their way of life and the reasons why they were so isolated and who their enemies are and why the want them dead. The are too many examples to mention. All I can say is if there is another book written I will definitely want to listen to it!

Very entertaining story
I truly enjoyed Raini & Maddox’ story, I originally thought I wouldn’t care for him. Their powers made them unique for each other and quiet different from the others. I love that the past characters have such a part in each new story. Cat Doucette is amazing that she keeps the voices of each person consistent thru each new book.

Love this series
Another superb installment in the series. Honestly, I believe this was my favorite. IDK why. It’s just very good. Lots of action, a few unexpected turns. Just a great book. I love the interaction of characters from previous books and how they all are a team and help each other. I laughed out loud at Rainey’s father and conversation she had to have with him. Those imps are just funny.
Try the whole series, you won’t be disappointed.
Well worth a credit or money.
Definitely one I would listen to again and again.
Automatic download when I see a new addition.

Great book!
Suzanne Wright does an excellent job with this book! She is one of my favorite authors in this genre. I loved how things came together with them in spite of the obstacles before them. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series!

Where’s a good editor when you need one?
She was not sat on the couch-she was seated. He was not stood in the hallway he was standing. There were countless moments of misuse of the words sat and stood - frankly I was stunned. How does that not get noticed? People don’t tremor they tremble. Placatory-really? Do editors no longer exist? This wasn’t book 1 it was book 7 for goodness sake and to run into the same grammatical errors repeatedly throughout an entire series, bloody hell it gets beyond irritating! The other thing that came to mind is how the hell does the narrator not notice?
It’s not a bad series , I enjoyed the characters and the humor a great deal. The stories became somewhat repetitive however, as did the sex scenes, so maybe fewer sex scenes and more actual story. Just a thought.

Suzanne Wright never disappoints.
This latest addition to the series is an inventive, exciting (in all the ways this word can be used,) innovative wild ride.
As always, I mostly review the author, series and\or the narrator as there are tons of reviews with synopses out there.
Another reviewer said it was a repetition of the Harper and Maddox story and I can't figure out how. Well, they're, mostly, demons, there's a bond, the world is the same but so not the same story.
One reason Suzanne's stories are so popular is that they don't get stale as the series continues.
I haven't yet read a book she's written that I don't like.
Enjoy. I did.

wish it was longer
It could have gone on another few hours. loved it. Wish they went into more detail towards the end. it was a little rushed.
