The title of this book describes the state of the western world's population at this moment in time. Life seems to be geared to make us feel isolated and financially stressed. Working from 9 to 5, we never question authority and are kept so busy that we have no time to contemplate life, nor to develop our critical thinking ability or investigate who we are. Most of our values and beliefs we learn from our parents, and these are then replaced by other institutions such as early childhood centers, high schools, religions, nationalities, and corporations.
We all have need for survival, but rather than working together, we compete for limited resources. This thought-provoking book will provide people with an alternative view of life and introduce concepts that may explain why we feel stuck, tired, drained, and drunk on survival.
