    Never thought I would learn so much when I started this book, which was mostly because I love Joy but also because I really enjoy her writing in songs or in her newspaper. But man, what a rollercoaster. Everyone can relate, no need to have been in a cult to have experience an abusive relationship...
    Thank you Joy for your honesty & for sharing your story. Thank you for emphasizing how many times the "victims" are the one's carrying the shame, an old freaking pattern that we have a hard time breaking.
    It didn't disappointed at all. In the end, we don't wanna be anything other than what we've trying to be lately... Thank you for this book 🎶

    J’avais vraiment envie d’en savoir plus sur la vie de Bethany Joy Lenz au sein de cette secte où elle est restée 10 ans. Alors qu’en parallèle de cette vie secrète et tellement difficile et humiliante, son personnage de Hailey James Scott vivait une vie de couple et de famille heureuse et épanouie. L’histoire est vraiment prenante, on a envie d’enchaîner les chapitres les uns après les autres. Et cerise sur le gâteau, cents Bethany Joy Lens elle-même qui dit le texte ce qui rend l’expérience encore plus immersive et authentique !

    Ce qu’on voit à l’écran ne reflète pas forcément la réalité de la vie des gens.
