Too long
The narrators made the story tolerable, excellent job by both. I could listen to Sebastian York non-stop. Although well written, I found the story too “Wordy” if that makes sense. The author explains every little detail of every emotion of every thought to describe the mood, but enough already, there’s no reason why this story should’ve been 15 hours long! I know a descriptive author makes for a good read/listen, so most of you might disagree with me. All due respect to the author, in the end, I would spend another credit to read their work

Enemies-to-lovers and slow-burn romance!
This story is the first book in the Cruel Crown Series. OMG! 145,000 words/15 hrs and 46 mins, and no dull moment. This is an enemies-to-lovers, and slow-burn romance, very well written. The story is hilarious, sweet, emotional, sexy, captivating, intriguing, and beautiful. Some scenes are absolutely hilarious! The characters are wonderful. Nash is a handsome, sexy alpha man, seeking for revenge. Emery is an absolutely beautiful woman, selfless, feisty, strong, and independent. I love how their relationship evolves, after some twists and turns. The ending is beautiful. I loved seeing again Asher and Lucy from Asher Black. Desireé Ketchum and Sebastian York did a wonderful job with the narration. I love their voices together. Sebastien York is perfect as Nash. Desireé Ketchum is definitively one of my favorite narrators. I love her voice! She is perfect as Emery. Parker S. Huntington is an amazing author. Her writing is genius, and refreshing. She never disappoints. Never. Looking forward to read more books from her! If you haven't read this story or the Five Syndicates Series, give you a favor and do it! Just do it! You won't regret it.

Magic of Her Words
Devious Lies by Parker S. Huntington is a magical listen with the vibrant imagery, unusual words, and incredible characters. I so loved Emery and Nash in this book. They had immense chemistry, great banter and surprising secrets. I was pulled into this book from the first minute. I loved the unexpected humor the author injected in the story naming one of her friends at the root. Sebastian York and Desiree' Ketchum were perfectly cast for this audiobook. I could definitely sense the age difference in characters, which only added to the book. Both narrators are spectacular, and together they are even better. Thank you Parker for including cameo appearances by some of my favorite other characters in this book too! That was an unexpected treat. The twists are unexpected and so well done. I loved this book!

Love this book so much!
I love Parker's books and imagination. This book was so amazing to listen to from start to finish. Loved Nash, Reed & Emery. Ten awesome stars. This book has me at a loss for words. Friends to enemies to lovers with steam and a hea mixed in. You need this book.

My heart kept pounding
There are no truer words than the magic ones that emery silently put out the universe, this book shows growth and hell of a lot of twists - its full, of lust, gluttony, greed, anger, violence, fraud, treachery. I loved every single word.

Serious editing needed
This is the first time I have written a review half way through a book. This book needs SERIOUS editing. So much repetitive text. It has potential, but just half way in and it’s clearly way too long.

Emery & Nash
I have been waiting to meet Nash Prescott and the it was totally worth the wait. This book, the first in the Cruel Crown series is so good, it will keep up to finish the listen! This enemies to lovers story is not your typical listen. It's fresh, original and oh, so sexy. Emery is down and out after her father's reputation is tarnished. Now believing her trust fund is tainted, she is set on making it on her own, It's not easy, so taking a job with her best friend's brother is a last resort. When Nash realizes the daughter of the man who ruined his family's life is now working for him, the one that accidentally landed in his bed 4 years earlier, he is determined to make her life miserable. But what these two don't know is how their journey will go. Huntington is a master at suspense, intrigue and romance. There are twists and turns in this that are surprising and so well written, I just could not stop listening. Smart and sexy is how I would best describe it and some humor to lighten the mood at times that will make you spit out your drink! I am hooked again, and can't wait for more.
Sebastian York and Desireé Ketchum are cast so well, you would think they actually are Nash and Em. York has that edge to his voice for this darker, alpha, full of venom when necessary and can turn the charm on in the next breath. Ketchum feels the essence of Emery, with her need to be separated from her family and find her independence. She has attitude and fiery passion flowing through her voice. This is an amazing team and makes this an amazing listen.

A Must Read Wonderful Beautiful Disaster
Let me first start out by saying that I listen to/read books almost every day for the past 13 years. Most of them are predictable; regardless, I enjoy them. BUT...this book has cracked open my heart. I listened to this book straight through. I literally could not STOP listening. I experienced every emotion copious amount of times for the last 15 hours and 46 mins. I had to instantly go on amazon and purchase the paperback copy. I need to actually feel this book in my hands, so my heart knows that it's real. Also, I want to make myself clear on how important I believe this book is...for example...I NEVER write reviews. Ever. This is the first time I am writing about an audiobook. Parker S. Huntington has just become my favorite author. And that is saying something because I have my favorites. Most books I purchase don’t compare to books I’ve read a hundred times. This book however will be something I read over and over again. Yes, the sexual scenes are intense and obviously a perk, but the way this story is written is the real magic. And yes, I am being “that” person and adding in little Easter eggs of words in this review that pertains to the story itself. I want anyone who reads my review to know that this book is a must HAVE. The way the author captures you in this world with each character is a true gift. And honestly, I would love to thank her for creating this world for me to peak into every once in a while. I mean I could close my eyes now and picture the way Nash looked at Em. On the day of her birthday, Nash paints a picture of Em resembling a storm colliding with the storm above. I CAN’T. Probably going to listen to this book again after I write this. PSA… Anyone above or below me on this review section is a damn liar or fool if they didn’t appreciate or love this book. Even the narrators did an excellent job! They truly brought Parker’s words to life! So, anyone who gives this book a less than “Perfect” even though perfect doesn’t exist…I expect this book to get all the stars it deserves. If you’re the few that don’t find it as amazing as I did, well maybe you just didn’t listen carefully enough to appreciate the simple life lessons being taught.
