Avis de l'équipe
Graham Masterton has been thrilling and terrifying his readers since 1976, when his best-selling novel The Manitou was published. Since then he has published almost 40 books of horror, which his fans devour voraciously. In the supernatural thriller Descendant, a vampire legend of the Romanian strigoi turns out to be a reality. This suspenseful novel about undying predators is performed by Garrick Hagon, whose voice - though perhaps not his Transylvanian accent - many listeners might recognize from Star Wars: A New Hope and Batman. Hagon reads frequently for the BBC and even operates his own audiobook production company, so he knows his way around a strong dramatic recording.
Description
In this supernatural thriller, U.S. counterintelligence officials approach James Falcon to hunt down strigoi murderers--undying vampires--in war-ravaged Europe. Even after the threat is driven away, James will uncover more secrets about the immortal predators--secrets that come ever closer to home.

liked it, after a slow start.
struggled at first, wasn't sure about finishing but I kept listening and got hooked. the narration was very good. it seemed to get better as we went on. this is not your traditional type type of vampire story.
i enjoyed this one and hope to see the second one.

Like listening to a 1930’s radio show
At first, I thought this is kinda cool. However, Im not sure it was the writer or narrator but it just became so lame.
Story and writing was simple like I was listening to a book for young adults but it wasn’t.
One of the few books I stopped listening to became it was just not good.

Good Story, Despite Some Holes
Good story overall. Well narrated and entertaining. There were some holes that were semi-closed very late in the book. I hope there’s a Part 2 to answer other questions and fully close those holes, but it’s been 8 years, so….. // Meanwhile, there are other titles by the author that interest me, so I’ll check those out and see if he’s my new favorite.

Over the top descriptive.
A bit heavy on detailing the gore but overall it was a good listen. Worthy.

Fine enough but can't stick the landing
they did good enough in letting you dislike the vampires the way they were presented. however the main character grew ever more unlikable as the story went on and the author made the character completely stupid in the final Acts to the point that I could not tolerate the ending and it just ruined the whole experience

Skip it
Story is week, main character is a narcissist with little development that you are supposed to feel sorry for. Use your time elsewhere.
