Description

When Edward Townes - famed writer of novels about knights and maids, and castles and conquering - attends a medieval launch party for his latest book, he arrives ready to do more than celebrate. But party night brings a blizzard, a once-in-a-century storm that sees Townes staggering home, alone... only to be found dead the next day. With Cherringham cut-off and the blizzard still raging, Jack and Sarah start investigating. Their questions reveal that many of those still stranded in the dark village have secrets. And Townes' killer is still in the village...

Set in the sleepy English village of Cherringham, the detective series brings together an unlikely sleuthing duo: English web designer Sarah and American ex-cop Jack. Thrilling and deadly - but with a spot of tea - it's like Rosamunde Pilcher meets Inspector Barnaby. Each of the self-contained episodes is a quick read for the morning commute, while waiting for the doctor, or when curling up with a hot cuppa.

Co-authors Neil Richards (based in the UK) and Matthew Costello (based in the US), have been writing together since the mid 90's, creating content and working on projects for the BBC, Disney Channel, Sony, ABC, Eidos, and Nintendo to name but a few. Their transatlantic collaboration has underpinned scores of TV drama scripts, computer games, radio shows, and - most recently - the successful crime fiction series Cherringham.

The narrator of the audiobook, Neil Dudgeon, has been in many British television programmes including the roles of 'DCI John Barnaby' in 'Midsomer Murders' and 'Jim Riley' in 'The Life of Riley'. He is also known for his film roles in 'The Nativity', 'Sorted' and 'Son of Rambow'. In 2012 Dudgeon starred as 'Norman Birkett' on BBC Radio 4's Afternoon Play series written by Caroline and David Stafford.

Jack and Sarah fan

This is unworthy guys! At best it's a pot boiler. We immediately know whodunit. And ,for once, Neil`s Audible is horrible. Very disappointing.

Death Trap 32

I really enjoy the Cherringham series and this one was no exception. I love the way Jack & Sarah go about solving the murder. Will definitely carry on listening to the rest of the series. The narration was excellent.

Just fun!

I love this little series: excellent writing, neat characters and of course; a mystery!
This starts in the village hit by a snowstorm... and a murder! More please!

I had to interrupt my listening to say this...

I have always LOVED Neil Dudgeon. I know him from Midsomer Murders, before and after he became the second Barnaby, and he maintains that same "one eyebrow slightly lifted" as narrator of every Cherringham audiobook. But in this one, Chapter 20, with Dugeon's reading about the effective use of a pause during questioning, I laughed out loud and then it got even better! Genius!

Awesome series..

This was all about the death of Edward Townes that Jack and Sarah were asked to look into. Was it murder or did the drunken mess around a kill himself accidently.

Wow! The 32nd cozy mystery about Cherringham I’ve read/listened to and I’ve enjoyed every one of them.

No romance and no swearing. Just good clean mysteries.

As to the narration: If they ever found a new narrator, I would stop listening to them. Neil Dudgeon does such an incredible job.

At last!

I got to hear again that god-awful, whacked out little jingle rhat I've come to love so much!

I know there's a new series, and I'm off to listen, but I hope there are more mysteries for Jack and Sara(h) to solve before we think of them in happy retirement.

Long may they run!
