I can't! I don't often give up on books once I have started reading them, but this one is too much! Too much graphic senseless violence and cruelty, too many barbaric characters ... I usually enjoy reading fantasy for the discovery of new worlds but this one? Not for me! I don't know how an author can come up with such a bleak story! When I read a book, I need a little hope, a few 'nice' characters, which I didn't find here. Sorry Anne, I really enjoyed your series with 'the others', which is why I was looking forward to listening to this one. I tried, I really did but I give up (one third into the first book)
