Description

What are you waiting for? NA paranormal fantasy at its best by international best-selling author Tara Brown.

Someone is drugging the fairest of them all and hurting them in the dark corners of the forests around Port Mackenzie - shrouding the town in mystery and darkness. But nothing is as it seems. In the dark corners of the small town, there is also a light, a cure to what ails the sick. But everything comes at a cost, a price that must be paid. Aimee James discovers that cost the moment she dies. She discovers there are worse things than dying. She finds herself cursed. Discover how the Devil's Roses all starts because in the end it is the beginning that chooses who we will become and what side we will take.

Note from the author - This is the newly edited version. It won't ever be perfect because this is where I started; this was my first book. I don't even recognize the style of writing anymore, I have changed so much. So it is nice for me to be able to look at this and see where I started, how much I have grown as an author. We have gotten it as close to perfect as we can without ruining the experience of a debut novel by me, Tara Brown. Hope you enjoy, and thank you so much for listening to my beginning.

Great first half, then, huh? What happened?

Went straight from innocent clean girl to hellish soul sucker in less than a minute, then ended in total cliffhanger. Waste of time.

i would not recommend it

this book didnt hav enough info on the roses. i thought the book started out with her seeing Shane then it ended so weird. There was wayyyy to much back story. i wanted to hear more about her change. like it was like reading and waiting for information you never receive. i finished out of obligation because i started it. but it sucked. and still im going to try the next one and see if thats any better. my goodness.

can't even finish it

I only have an 1 hr 25 min left and I don't want to finish it because of the main character got soooooo annoying. 1. I'm not a fan of sister rivalry ( I can understand a little childish rivalry). I just don't support talking down about sisters/females. For example, she called her sister (slut, satan, stupid, and let other people talk bad about her sister and agreeing). 2. I don't like the main character arrogance and how she thinks she is smarter than the average teenager. I actually thought she was quite stupid and didn't have any common sense. Maybe it was because she was young but I'm tired of the teenager romance supernatural novels where the main character has no sense. Every main character is worried about is losing their virginity/getting a boyfriend vs. not worrying about the demons trying to kill you and your family but congratulations on losing your virginity soooo cool B-).

idk it just was so less than I expected

I thought I would love it. and then it just skipped to a completely different path and forgot to clean up. I'm not sure I want to continue with the series. I hope questions are answered but then again I don't want to waste my time ..

Teenage love story, wrong man, gone wrong...

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Not for me. In the first line of the book description it says a "NA paranormal fantasy"..Ok, didn't really know that NA was New Adult. What? I thought that was Young Adult? Well I'm an old adult and the book rambles on about teenage feelings, and popular vs. nerd, and I've always loved him, oh yeah and someone is a serial rapist and there are some really incompetent immortals hanging around.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The story in the description is very interesting. This is not that story. This story is about a teenage girl who made some bad decisions and has even worse luck.

Have you listened to any of Julie McKay’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Narration was good

Did Cursed inspire you to do anything?

Never get a "NA paranormal fantasy" again

Continued

Good book if you can be patient enough to wait for some"actual "excitement which finally comes about the 12th chapter. The narrator was really good and gave each character their individual personalities.

Angst filled read

This is a typical Angst filled read and even knowing her touch is deadly our lead does the unthinkable but apparently its alright because its someone else's fault and she will never do it again and now she is trying to make her "affliction" do good . . .

Narrator does a reasonable job considering what she has to work with. The story line has some merit but is not in my opinion handled that well by the author.

some will no doubt love this tale
