    Description

Coen Highsmith was a league star, but he lost more than his team the day the Pittsburgh Titans’ plane crashed. Can he be saved from his downward spiral of guilt and regret to become the man he once was?

I had it all—a successful hockey career, the respect and adoration of the fans, a rotation of beautiful women warming my bed, and a feeling of self-worth and contentment with the direction of my life. But that all changed the day the team plane went down, taking my only chance of redemption with it. Now I’m left with the daily reminder of all my failures and my inability to correct them.

My new teammates are tired of my attitude, and following my suspension, I hole up in a mountain cabin to get away from all of it. The isolation is exactly what I need to get out of my own head, and I’m beginning to think I could be content in this quiet forever.

Tillie Marshall isn’t the type of woman who would usually catch my attention, yet she manages to do so for all the wrong reasons. I’m here for the peace and seclusion, but the quirky artist is hell-bent on destroying that by cutting down the trees that separate our properties so she can open a pottery studio. If it’s a fight she wants, it’s a fight she’ll get. I have the money and the time and no issues bringing her down through the court system. While I see flashes of steely determination within her, I’ve found that being a jerk comes naturally these days and she won’t be hard to intimidate.

Unfortunately, that gorgeous and somewhat odd neighbor who has been causing me grief is creating another type of feeling within me. And once that spark is lit, Tillie displays a faith in me that for the first time since the crash I desperately want to believe. Now it’s time for me to step up and become the man—no, a better man than I once was.

    Full circle of emotions

Coen and Tilly have an amazing story that pulled on all my feels. All that Coen is going through and processing being a survivor with baggage. He is a perfect broody grump whose heart grows two sizes. Tilly is an artist trying to fulfill her dreams with the broody grump standing in her way. The author did an such a fantastic job in this story I am kind of speechless

I could listen to the narrators for hours on end while they do the most perfect job bringing these characters to life. Their voices had me right there in the story with the characters

Not a fan of male voice.

Great story per usual S Bowen. It was uncomfortable listening to the male voice, but I finished the book. Female voice was lovely (5⭐️),

A shot right to the heart!!

I was so excited for Coen’s story. I’ve been eager to read Coen’s book since we first met him. We’ve been teased with little snippets of him since the very first book in the series. Now, at book 4, we finally get Coen’s complete story. Coen is still reeling from the deaths of most of his teammates. He’s suffering from severe survivor’s guilt. Coen’s buys this cabin in the woods in Pennsylvania, off of one of his teammates and proceeds to hide out from everyone and everything. In walks Tillie, or really, she squats, and upends Coen’s peaceful, lonely life. These two seem to be fire and ice, oil and water… these two don’t seem to mix. As time goes by though, sparks begin to fly and these two start to lean on each other.

Coen starts just like I’d expect him too… he’s cold and kind of a jerk. Tillie is strong and capable. She has plans and isn’t about to be set off course by some jerk. Tillie finds there’s more to Coen as the time goes by and she finds herself liking what she’s seeing in him. This was a real heart-warming story about people finding their way after tragedy. The narration by Aaron Shedlock and Lucy Rivers was amazing. I really enjoyed these two together. Shedlock can play a down on his luck, melancholy like no other. Rivers gives Tillie that fire and spice that I really liked about her. I couldn’t get enough of these narrators, let alone the story.

    I loved it!

This is the fourth book in the Pittsburgh Titans Series, a spin-off of the Arizona Vengeance series, a Sports Romance. This series is amazing! I loved Coen and Tillie's story. Coen is tortured by a survivor guilt. He is very handsome, and grumpy. Tillie is beautiful, kind, strong, determined, and supportive. They complement each other. I liked their banter. The storyline is emotional, and beautifully written. This is a great enemies to lovers romance. Aaron Shedlock and Lucy Rivers did an excellent job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listening to Drake, the next book in the series. I highly recommend this series.

    Coen and Tillie

Coen was a star on his hockey team but when he missed a plane due to an illness and lost his team, his crew, hos family, the guilt that he carried made him impossible to be around. He survived due to not being able to go but what he carried in his soul made him miserable and not lovable. The pain he carried oozed from his body and everyone, including fans, felt it.

Tillie was a spit fire and loved hard. She was the person that would take anything you say to her and brush it off. She was a loner, and she was okay with that. She had a group of friends how loved her just was hard as she loved them.

Coen and Tillie met in an unusual way and things were not okay. Coen met his match with Tillie. He thought he could treat her the way he did others, and it would push him away, but things took a different turn. The attraction was there but would the either of them act on it considering the situation they were in?

I loved the narration for Coen. Aaron Shedlock and Lucy Rivers really bought the characters to life!

    Enemies to Lovers!

Coen, a professional hockey player with the Pittsburgh Titans, was not on the plane with his teammates when it crashed; now he is throwing that career away due to survivor's guilt as well as the guilt of being disloyal to a friend. As his life spirals out of control, he decides solitude is what he needs and moves into a cabin owned by Stone.

Tillie, an artist, lives in the cabin next to Coen. Her plan is to open a art studio on her property to when she tries to cut down some trees for a new driveway, Coen is not happy with her plans and files an injunction to holt the processes. Now they are enemies. When Tillie is being bullied by some girls she went to school with, Coen comes to her rescue.

As they go back and forth about the trees, the chemistry between them is undeniable. Coen and Tillie take you on an emotional roller coaster to find the HEA they both deserve.

This is an awesome story of forgiveness. Great narration by Aaron Shedlock and Lucy Rivers.

    A MUST listen!!

As with all of the books in this series, you can listen to it as a stand alone but it’s more enjoyable if you listen in order. From earlier books, we know that Coen is the lone survivor of the crash that killed his Titans teammates…because he had the flu. We also know that Coen has been spiraling into self destruction. This book helps us to understand the demons that haunt Coen…and we meet the woman who helps him to face and beat those demons. Turns out that Coen just needed a woman who didn’t know his background and didn’t take his $h!t!! Oh, and the tiny chipmunk that didn’t care about his guilt…he just wanted food from the grump. Of course there are some petty, cruel women that bring out the protective side of Coen. I could go on but that would mean spoilers. Trust me, you will enjoy the grumpy Coen being put in his place and finally getting his act together. The narratiln team was well suited for the characters…they brought them to life! Next up is Ms. Norcross about to get her HEA? Can’t wait!!
I voluntarily accepted a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

    Can Tillie tame the beast?

Finally, we get the reason why Coen is acting the way he is. Finally, we get some answers. Now the question is can he get past it. I think Tillie opens his eyes to what he is doing with his teammates. When Gage visits and they talk, it's the first step in moving on. The survivor's guilt is a lot to bear, but add in the other guilt he is dealing with and that is what has pushed him to be a douche to everyone.

It will be interesting to see how he and Tillie fare in the future. I'm hopeful they can work out the bugs, but it is a major change for her. We really didn't see her outside her comfort zone and in a big city in this book, so only time will tell if she can manage splitting her time between the cabin and the big city.

I think Aaron Shedlock as Coen was a good pick. He handles the moodiness very well. Lucy Rivers as Tillie was also a great choice. It's been awhile since I've listened to her and she handles both the embarrassed version and the take no prisoners version of Tillie very well.

    From tragic to love

This fourth book in the Pittsburgh Titans Series, is about the tragic figure we've seen in the other books. Coen is haunted by the tragic plane crash that took his team mates. We saw him crash and burn in the last book in the series. Haunted and out of control. The story opens with Coen seeking solace in a cabin in the woods, his peace is interrupted by his neighbor Tillie. The two clash over property lines, and a court case is started. Will these two ever see eye to eye? Somehow they do find a middle ground and sparks fly.
The narration was fantastic, with Aaron Shedlock and Lucy Rivers teaming up you cannot go wrong. They were able to bring the story to life and create an enjoyable listen.
