À propos de cette écoute

Paolo and Gianna and their two young children, forced to leave their home country, arrive in Chicago's Little Sicily on a freezing night at the dawning of the Roaring Twenties. They quickly learn that they are not welcome or wanted in their new home and that the streets are not paved with gold. The streets and businesses are, in fact, run by dirty politicians, mobsters, and crooked cops. Times are tough; the young immigrants must learn to be tougher to survive.

When an act of brutal and terrible violence is committed against the family by their own countrymen, Paolo swears revenge. The boss of Little Sicily, Don Malo Tancredi, cannot tolerate disrespect and orders the public murder of Paolo as an example to the neighborhood he controls. Paolo then becomes the target of vicious assassins.

The young farmer-turned-slaughterhouse-laborer and his wife, Gianna, stand alone against the killers who wait outside their door to kill him.

With Paolo's death imminent, his survival, and the futures of their children, hang in the balance as the couple prays for a miracle and works to outsmart the mobsters who wait outside their door to gun him down.
