Description
When I saw my escape, I took it. Now I'm in New York City and trying to get my life back on track. Despite the tracker in my ankle, Crow hasn't come for me. He hasn't even called me. I told him the depth of my feelings but he cruelly rejected them.
Maybe he's forgotten about me.
One day, I walk into my apartment and spot the pile of buttons on the counter. I never left them there, and there's only one explanation for their presence.
Maybe Crow hasn't forgotten me after all.

LOVED THIS SERIES.DARK SIDE OF OBSESSION AND LOVE
Any additional comments?
I did not review the first two books because I needed to know how it ended. There are some brutal moments but the story is well rounded and the depth of the characters was a complete enjoyable experience. At times I was even afraid of what would happen. Get all three because it is worth every credit and the ending is well worth the wait🌟🌟🌟🌟

Button/Pearl Is The Ultimate Badass
I can hear Button singing, "I get knocked down, but I get up again, nothing's ever gonna keep me down." This chick doesn't know the meaning of stay down. I'm obsessed with Button/Pearl too, she's beautiful, smart and tough as they come with a kind and forgiving heart. I love that this heroine did not wait for a white knight to rescue her, she was constantly planning how to save herself. But a hot guy, even if he is bad guy is just what this girl needed. This book is the perfect way to end an amazing series. There are definitely some dark and painful moments to listen to but they added to intensity of the overall story. I love that Button didn't see herself as a victim and Crow never treated her as such. If I had to have one sentence that describes the essence of this series, "Love conquers all."
The narrators were really good but since the majority of the book took place in Italy, shouldn't someone have an Italian accent. I'm not sure what kind of accent Bones had. A duet style narration would have done wonders for this story.
Absolutely worth every cent/credit I paid. I will probably listen to this series again, and maybe again again.

Six Stars Out of Five
This has become one of my favorite series of all times by a favorite author and a favorite pair of narrators. While it is a dark romance with lots of action and intrigue (and steamy sex scenes) it is a very uplifting story. Penelope Sky's writing is both luxurious and savage . She creates the best female characters who she tosses about in a world of powerful and corrupt men who are not quite tough enough or cunning enough to conquer them. The voice actors, Samantha Cook and Michael Ferraiuolo, are the dream team for the stories in this series. Their voices become the characters. They are honest in their portrayals of Button and Crow allowing the story to unfold at the perfect pace for each of the characters. Michael Ferraioulo's voice could melt the panties off the Statue of Liberty.
Over the last few chapters I was begging for the climax and dreading the finale. I hate to see this series end and feel a big "book slump" galloping up behind me as I write this.

overall well done
I liked the ending, however, some of the interactions and sex scenes were hard to listen to. A lot of the sex scenes were not consentual.

Not what I thought
I'm sorry but I thought this book was lame. I am actually surprised by all of the rave reviews. It's a love story. There are a few sex scenes and certainly not brutal as some have said. The girl reader was good. The mail raider did not sound as alpha dominant as the author intended, in my opinion.

YES!
This book was a good choice.. I would definitely recommend... The victim was not to be played with, and she let you know it.

Crow & Pearl Barsetti
"I may bend but I don't break" -Pearl
*****Spoiler Alert*****
Audible review. Dual POV. Book 3 in the Buttons series. I adore that Crow submits to Pearl so frequently in this book. Both narrators: average American accent; Michael briefly adopts a British accent and Samantha briefly adopts both an Italian accent & a Russian accent. There was one repeat error. Trigger warnings: human trafficking; BDSM & power exchange; slapping; 3 kidnappings; torture.
Pearl returns to the USA, to her apartment to confront her ex, he's w/another woman, she demands the $100,000 he recieved when he sold her and to use his apartment. Pearl went to the police, removed herself from the missing persons list, moved in with Jason, got a job with a construction company, moved into her own apartment and briefly hooked up with Jason. Crow goes to Pearl in NYC for 2 weeks for his remaining 30 buttons hoping Pearl will return with him but Crow returns home without Pearl. Bones' men kidnap Pearl again. Crow and Cane rescue her. Cane tells Crow to marry Pearl, that he wants her to be part of their family. Crow grieves the loss of his sister on the 2nd anniversary of her death. Crow finally tells Pearl he loves her. Bones offers to end their feud if Crow returns Pearl or the war will rage between them, of course Crow refuses to give Pearl to Bones. Crow tells Cane that he finally told Pearl he loves her. Pearl cooks for Crow. Crow proposes with a note and an engagement ring with a gold button topped with a pearl on a gold band. Crow and Pearl marry, Cane & Lars were their witnesses. Bones captures and tortures Cane while they're on their honeymoon. Pearl goes to Bones to save Cane, she's able to kill Bones and Crow rescues her from Bones hiding place. The epilogue finds them happy with two children and pregnant for their third while rescuing trafficked girls. JP

GOOD and HOT, HUH BRUH
This write great and the narrator team is awesome. I purchase the last two books at one time, because I was so caught
up in the story line, I couldn't stop. Buttons is a strong young woman, and Crow, a man after my heart. Kane added just the right amount of amusement. He even pissed me off (LOL). Love the entire thing.
