Detective Sergeant Flynn Moran is on secondment from the Metropolitan Police in his home town of Muddlebay. Not long after Flynn arrives, the Mayor of Muddlebay is found to have overdosed on atropine. But was it accidental, or deliberate?

Oh, and not forgetting that she listens from behind the stacks to what is the lifeblood of any small town - gossip.
Did someone want the mayor dead? And could that be why a local councilor is overheard plotting to be the next incumbent?
