Description

1st book I have from this author
The intent of the story was interesting. Character development could use a bit more. The story scenes captured my attention, though it was somewhat slow to start. The narrator did an ok job, though I would encourage speeding up the audiobook to 1.4-1.6 x speed so that it seems to give conversational type speed to the character dialogues.

Solid chick-lit with a side of the paranormal
This genre seems to be either hit or miss for me. Perhaps if I haven't been exposed to many vampire "rom-coms" I'd have rated this higher. Alas, I kept waiting for a little less talking and a lot more action... (the plot pacing could have been quicker (writing this at Chapter 17)). I didn't mind the male narrator, since he seemed to put more life into the characters, but the female narrator was a bit monotone (listening to this at x1.2 speed). Hence why I didn't feel too much sympathy for our newly-turned vamp Sarah as I did for the weary 600+ year old master vamp Thierry. Still, I'm glad the h had her bestie on her side, eventually... Kinda dumb of her though to drop a bombshell in such a precarious environment. Not sure if this is going to be a love triangle or a menage...but I think Quinn would be a better fit for her since they both had the *newly turned thing* going on. I see this series has 8.5 books already so maybe this was like a pilot and things will eventually get better? I only wish I was as *smitten* with this freely given audiobook as the other reviewers found it, but this is just my honest opinion.

Entertaining and Suspenseful
I can easily recommend this audiobook if you’re looking for something light hearted, suspenseful and witty. This story has a fun and different spin on what vampires can and can’t do which makes it more entertaining since it’s not a rehash of the usual. The main character Sarah is witty and funny, and the narrator does a great job with line delivery. The supporting characters are also interesting and not the usual ghoulish types you might expect. The narration of the male voices is also done well with some minor exceptions - I quickly got past that. Solid audiobook.

Bitten & Smitten
Hopefully the first in many books in a series, I enjoyed Bitten & Smitten. Sarah is a likable character. The story held my interest, made me laugh and listen to it all in one binge-day. Very enjoyable.
I generally listen to books at 1.2x or higher. I don't know if it was the speed, or if it was actually the narration, but I found the male narration....um....not to my liking. It was slow, and creepy - not sexy at all.
Overall the book and narration was good and worth the listen

Great fun
I normally don't like Vampire stories but this one was so much fun. With some suspenseful parts within the story it was just a pleasure to listen to this audiobook. Would love to hear more of it.
