Can you recycle fly line? Historically, no, but now you can. Airflo and TerraCycle have partnered to provide fly line recycling boxes to fly shops across the US, keeping thousands of river miles of fly line out of landfills and the environment.

Fly line is built to survive water, UV, and abrasion, which is great for anglers, but a real problem at end-of-life.
