Yours Truly Johnny Dollar presents “The Phantom Chase Matter, Part 1,” originally broadcast on CBS Radio on October 15, 1956. In this opening chapter of an unusually long nine-part serial, Bob Bailey stars as freelance insurance investigator Johnny Dollar. Written by Robert Ryf and produced and directed by Jack Johnstone.

Dollar is assigned to trace Thomas “Tom” Chase, a New York investment-firm partner accused of embezzling $120,000 and then vanishing after jumping bail. With Chase, the missing money, and a respected brokerage’s reputation all at stake, Johnny begins digging into the questions behind the disappearance.

Yours Truly Johnny Dollar presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned and mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
