The Little Superheroes Pod is back, and this time, it's personal. 🌟

What happens when the very system designed to support your child becomes another battle you have to fight?

In this deeply personal episode, I'm sharing why I'm bringing the podcast back and the experiences that have inspired its new direction.

As a paediatric neurodevelopmental therapist, educator, and mum to Hawaiki, my little boy living with profound brain damage, I know firsthand the challenges, heartbreak, and beautiful moments that come with raising a child with disabilities.

After a recent NDIS review resulted in Hawaiki's therapy funding being cut in half, I found myself fighting once again for the support my son needs. But this experience sparked something bigger: a determination to give other families a voice, share valuable information, and advocate for children who deserve better.

This podcast is about more than navigating the NDIS. It's about understanding disability, exploring therapies, sharing research, celebrating the smallest victories, and creating a community where families feel seen, heard, and supported.

In This Episode, I Share:

  • Why I'm bringing back The Little Superheroes Pod with a renewed purpose
  • Hawaiki's incredible journey and the lessons he's taught me
  • The impact of NDIS funding cuts on children with profound disabilities
  • The unseen emotional struggles of parents and caregivers
  • Why early intervention, therapy, and access to essential equipment matter
  • The importance of disability advocacy, inclusion, and listening to lived experiences
  • What's ahead for the podcast, including expert insights, research, and real family stories
