Our eighth and final candidate interview in this series is with Ryan Jamieson. We met on a Thursday evening on the back porch at the Lowdown in North Boulder and talked about wildfire preparedness, government efficiency, and the need for a city auditor among other subjects over a couple of IPAs. Content warning: this episode acknowledges the existence of beer and features middle aged men drinking it. So, if you have young children nearby and you are inclined to shield from this scandalous behavior you might consider packing your belongs and moving to a dry county in Arkansas or Kentucky! Speaking of which, the back porch of the Lowdown is not exactly a quiet recording studio and so we took on a bit of risk with the background noise. I used AI to filter out background noise as best as possible which has the effect of making our conversation a bit garbled in a few places. For example, at one point Ryan shares a quote about simple answers - that they are usually great to hear and wrong. I tried to recover this from the original audio but I found the fix more distracting than helpful. I apologize for these occasional compromises in the audio quality.
