The Trail Cook Framework for Second Acts
Most people starting a second act ask, "What do I need to buy?" The Trail Cook asks a better question: "What do we already have?"
In this episode of The Cartographer's series on the Trail-Boss Posse, we meet the Trail Cook, the one who stands by the chuck wagon, coffee on, skillet hot, and an eye on the pantry. We walk through the four questions that turn limited resources into useful results:
1. What do we already have? 2. What can we do with it? 3. What are we missing? 4. How can we make it go farther?
You'll hear why the skills, tools and contacts you've collected over a lifetime are your pantry, how to stretch them before spending a dime, and why the Trail Cook's motto works as well in a business plan as at the campfire: Use what you've got. Waste nothing. Feed the journey.
Your one-mile assignment this week: take ten minutes, write down what you already have on hand (skills, tools, people you know), and circle one thing you could put to use.
