The power goes out in Phoenix during extreme summer heat. Hours become days. Your air conditioning is gone, refrigerated food is warming, and the decision to stay or leave becomes increasingly urgent.
In Episode 4, Mike Roberts of Progressive Defense Systems walks through a hypothetical seven-day outage and the problems that can compound: heat, water, food spoilage, sanitation, disrupted communications, and access to essential supplies.
We examine the needs of young children, older adults, people with medical conditions, and those living alone. We also address evacuation: traffic congestion, fuel, supplies, and why leaving requires a destination and a plan.
This is a preparedness exercise, not a prediction of an imminent blackout. The goal is to recognize problems early and preserve your options before conditions force your decisions.
