Sunscar Valley has always survived dry summers, but one year the rains fail completely. Streams vanish, ponds crack into mud, and every creature begins guarding what little water remains.
At the center of the valley lies Moonwell, a deep spring that still flows beneath an ancient ring of stones. Deer arrive at dawn, boars at noon, hares at dusk, and birds whenever fear allows them. Suspicion soon turns the spring into a place of arguments, hoarding, and threats.
Young gazelle Nima, old tortoise Orro, a stubborn boar named Brakka, and a watchful raven called Sel must persuade the valley that survival cannot be secured by owning the last water. Through failed bargains, secret theft, a dust storm, and the discovery of a hidden underground channel, the animals learn that scarcity tests character more sharply than abundance.
This continuous fable explores fairness, sacrifice, common resources, leadership, trust, and the difficult truth that sharing does not mean everyone takes the same amount—it means everyone receives enough to remain part of tomorrow.
