When cholera crashes through the wagon train, Striker lies at death’s door, and Tamsyn fears she may lose him forever. Whatever made her think she was meant to be a healer? She doesn’t have enough training or experience! Worse still, Charles Colter—the brother of another patient—has begun pressing his suit. Tamsyn tries to discourage him, but his interest only deepens.

Still weak from illness, Striker finds Tamsyn smiling at another man outside his tent. Huh. Just how long has he been sick, exactly? However, his fears are allayed when Tamsyn launches herself into his arms. This is better. Much better.
But he still has to get Tamsyn and this wagon train to Oregon, and grief has twisted Charles Colter into something dangerously vengeful. When Charles stalks Tamsyn across the wilderness, Striker must fight not only the raging frontier, but a man determined to exact revenge on the woman he loves.
