Let’s talk about the need for childcare during a Cancer diagnosis. One often-overlooked challenge for parents or caregivers facing a cancer diagnosis is childcare. Whether it is attending screenings, diagnostic appointments, treatments, follow-up visits, or simply taking time to rest and recover, having reliable childcare can make all the difference.
When you are worried about who will care for your children, it can become harder to prioritize your own health. Parents need the peace of mind that their children are safe, supported, and cared for so they can focus on receiving the medical care they need. Access to childcare and financial assistance resources can help reduce stress, prevent missed appointments, and support better health outcomes throughout the cancer journey.
On this episode of Navigating Cancer, we highlight the importance of childcare as a critical support for individuals and families affected by cancer. No one should have to choose between caring for their children and caring for themselves.
Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone facing a cancer diagnosis, the family members and friends who walk beside them, and the survivors whose strength continues to inspire others.
