Vanessa E. Kelman
This collection includes all 3 books in the Fate Trilogy by Vanessa E. Kelman: Chasing Fate, Accepting Fate, and Tempting Fate.
Chasing Fate
Fifteen years ago, Melanie's life was perfect. She was graduating high school, she had a future with the man she loved, and she lived in a small town surrounded by people who cared about her. Then her boyfriend Bryan went to the army, and Melanie attempted to escape herself and her depression by moving on. But the guilt and depression followed her, and she finds that returning to Lakeville may be her only chance to find happiness.
Bobby has spent the last ten years grieving for the wife he lost in childbirth, and the child lost that day as well. As he tries to move past his grief and reclaim his life, he finds change isn't as easy as it seems.
Accepting Fate
Three years after her divorce, Mary still finds herself in the shadow of her marriage. Timid, passive and thoroughly fed up with both, she decides it's time to take back her life.
Fellow teacher Kelly is fed up with the dead-end relationships that continue to leave her feeling hollow and dejected. Just as Mary is deciding it's time to make some changes, Kelly finds she's in the some position, and they turn to each other for support as they recreate who they really are.
Tempting Fate
Jackie has always been scared of change. She's built a quiet, comfortable life for herself, free from drama and chaos. But when she faces a big change at work, her life is thrown into upheaval, and she can't help but wonder what would happen if she seized the opportunity to change more than just her job.
Meanwhile, Paul has a big decision to make. Faced with the threat of divorce and the possibility of a career change, he has to decide what it is he really wants. But that's much easier said than done, especially when emotions keep him chained to the past.
