Raph was a boy whose laugh could light up the darkest room. To his family, it sounded like a jar of bright marbles spilling onto a hardwood floor clattery, musical, and full of mischief. But one Tuesday morning, the music stopped.
When Raph opens his mouth to giggle at his cat’s clumsy acrobatics, nothing comes out but a heavy, hollow silence. His laugh hasn’t just faded; it has been stolen.
Guided by a trail of shimmering “Glee Dust” on his windowsill, Raph is pulled into the surreal, shadowed world of Gloomhaven. In this gray land where sound goes to die, Raph discovers a chilling plot: The Silencer, a villain who believes the world is better off in perfect stillness, is harvesting the world’s joy to power his “Great Silence.”
With the help of Sean, a girl who catches stray hiccups in jars, and a Glimmer-Scope that sees the colors of sound, Raph must journey through the Forest of Tickle-Trees and cross the Bridge of Sighs. He has to reach the Silent Circus and face the thief before his own spark vanishes forever.
In a world that has forgotten how to be loud, can one silent boy find the courage to make the biggest noise of all?
