Good afternoon. Georgia. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside right now and you're feeling that thick, muggy 63 degrees. Overnight rain dropped just under a tenth of an inch, but that was the warm-up act. The real show starts this afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms fire up statewide. Metro Atlanta sees the strongest action from noon to 8 P.M., peaking around 4 P.M. We hit 71 degrees by 6 P.M. Down along the coast. Savannah's flirting with history — 83 degrees around 2 P.M., just three degrees shy of the 1974 record. Thunderstorms roll in later there, 2 P.M. To 11 P.M. Eastern Georgia splits the difference at 78 degrees, storms from 2 P.M. To 9 P.M. Tonight, storms taper off by 9 P.M. Across most areas. Lows settle at 60 in Atlanta, 63 along the coast, 62 in eastern Georgia. Patchy fog develops overnight. Here's where the week gets interesting. Monday brings partly sunny skies with highs jumping to 78 in Atlanta and 82 along the coast. Slight chance of afternoon showers. Tuesday stays warm with scattered storms and highs near 78 to 85 degrees. Wednesday is the big story. We're talking 83 in Atlanta, 88 in eastern Georgia — that's 40 degrees above normal. Near-record warmth. The kind of day where you question if it's really March. Then Thursday reality checks back in. A cold front sweeps through with widespread rain. Highs drop to 59 in Atlanta, 73 along the coast. By Friday, we're sunny and pleasant at 66 to 69 degrees. One more thing — spring forward tonight. Clocks move ahead one hour. Set them before bed, or you'll be an hour late to everything Monday. See you this evening.
