Good morning. New York. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside and you'll feel that damp chill that cuts right through your jacket. Over an inch of rain fell overnight. And this morning brings lingering drizzle with temperatures at 37 degrees. The Capital Region had the trickiest night — a wintry mix of sleet, freezing rain. And snow that's finally tapering off. Winter Weather Advisories stick around until noon, so untreated roads stay slick. Down in the city, it's been all rain. Cloudy skies take you to the mid 40s today. Western New York saw patchy fog this morning, but that's clearing out. Mostly cloudy skies with highs near 50. Tonight brings more clouds and patchy fog statewide. Lows range from the upper 20s in the Capital Region to the low 40s across the city and western areas. Drizzle redevelops after 7 P.M. Saturday kicks off the weekend warmup. Temperatures climb into the 50s and 60s despite mostly cloudy skies. The city hits 57 degrees. Western New York reaches 66. Saturday night brings widespread showers and a few thunderstorms, especially west of I-81. Rain tapers Sunday morning, then skies clear. Highs Sunday reach the low 60s in the city, upper 40s to low 50s elsewhere. Monday and Tuesday bring sunshine with highs in the low 60s. By Wednesday, temperatures could push near 65 before rain returns Wednesday night. The warmth combined with multiple rain chances means rivers will be rising — something to watch closely through midweek. Spring equinox is just 14 days away.
