Good afternoon. Puerto Rico. I'm Aaron Jolly. That steady breeze you're feeling? It's out of the east. And it's not going anywhere. In fact, it's about to make things interesting. In the next 24 hours. Metro San Juan sits at 75 degrees right now with rain moving in. Those east winds are gusting to 23 miles an hour, so if you've got anything loose on the patio, now's the time to tie it down. Rain rolls through between 6 P.M. and early morning — expect a quarter to half inch. Friday brings partly sunny skies and a high near 81 degrees, but showers stick around through the day. Head south and you're looking at 73 degrees tonight with just isolated showers. Friday heats up fast — you'll hit 89 degrees under mostly sunny skies before scattered showers pop up after noon. Winds stay gentler here, around 7 to 18 miles an hour. Over in Western Puerto Rico, tonight drops to 69 degrees with scattered showers and breezy conditions. Friday afternoon could see thunderstorms mixed in as you climb to 86 degrees. Saturday through Tuesday keeps the unsettled pattern going — scattered showers with highs ranging from 80 to 89 degrees depending on where you're. By Wednesday, we might catch a break with drier air filtering in. One critical safety note. A High Risk of Rip Currents is in effect through Sunday. Life threatening currents are possible along north and east facing beaches. If you're not a strong swimmer, stay out of the water. Heed those flag warnings. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
