Good evening. Nevada. I'm Aaron Jolly. Sixty-eight degrees in the south right now. Feels more like May than March, doesn't it? But here's the reality check: drive a few hours north and you're hitting the brakes in a winter wonderland. In the next 24 hours. Northern Nevada is sitting at a brisk 27 degrees this morning. Eastern Nevada is even colder at 26 degrees. And that moisture moving in tonight means scattered rain and snow showers. If you're traveling toward Northern Elko County or the Ruby Mountains, you'll want to rethink your timeline. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 7 P.M. Thursday. We're talking about up to 11 inches of snow in the higher elevations, with winds gusting to 50 miles an hour. That's serious mountain weather. Down south, the wind is the main event. A Wind Advisory kicks in at 1 A.M. Thursday and runs straight through to 10 P.M. Gusts could hit 50 miles an hour, creating patchy blowing dust between 8 A.M. and 3 P.M. Tomorrow. It might be a good idea to secure those loose patio items tonight. Tonight also brings a full moon. With mostly clear skies statewide, it should be a beautiful sight. Looking ahead, a major warming trend builds Friday through Monday. Southern Nevada could hit 79 degrees by Monday—that's about 22 degrees above normal. The north climbs into the 60s and low 70s.
