We discussed her decades-long career as an actress on Broadway, television, and the big screen. She is also a celebrated singer with multiple Grammy nominations, has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and just recently released her memoir..."This Is It - Marvelous & Getting Better".

She shares stories of her past, talks about being the child of performers, and what it was like being a parent who was also in the world of performing. We talked about the challenges she's faced as a black, female actress & singer, her views on social media and how it's changed the industry, as well as her thoughts on the next generation of performers.

It was an insightful, laughter-filled, and light-hearted conversation with an amazingly talented performer whose long history of performing has led to an impressive list of accolades.
