Description
I spent five years in five concentration camps. All the atrocities I saw haunt me, so I write to process the past. I will never be able to erase from my memory the picture of Birkenau, where one year seemed a thousand years, where thousands of men and women from all parts of the world found an untimely end. Five years seem a short space of time, but more crimes were committed during that period than during the past five centuries.
At the time of my departure from Birkenau I noticed with dismay that only 25 men were still alive out of the total of 628 whom I met in the prison. Within two months, 600 men were exterminated in the Hitlerian hell. The surviving 25 prisoners did not last long. Several died in Sachsenhausen from typhoid fever. Others, whose physical endurance was at the lowest, died in Birkenau. A few weeks of hard labor proved sufficient to speed their end. I am the only one who survived.

Reader
The narrator of this story is painful to listen to. He has no flow between sentences and paragraphs. I honestly could not even finish listening to him.

Beware
I can't get past more than a few minutes because the speaker is so bad… I don't think I've ever written a negative review on here, but I had to warn people not to purchase the audio version of this story.
I knew there was trouble when the speaker couldn't pronounce Auschwitz or Dachau correctly.

eye opener
very hard, sad & cruel story, its and eye opener to what we shouldn't let happen again, it was at times like if i was there.
it was long but never boring, but i have to say the reader could've done a little better by adding some emotions to the way he reads it.

Read it, don't listen...
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I have nothing bad to say about the book, but i do reccomend that the reader read it, not listen. The narration is horrible. The reader could at least learn how to pronounce the names of cities, places or camps. it is hard and sometimes even imposiible to determine the location, because of american pronounciation of polish and german names. The reader cannot even pronounce Auschwitz or Oswiecim. Big fail.
